Another month had passed. It was the beginning of December and snow was falling from the sky at a constant rate. It had been a month since the Halloween party at the school and a month since Flynn had surprised me. He wasn’t able to stay long. He spent the night with me at my house but left early the next morning to fly to Chicago where the boys were waiting for him for their next performance. He was lucky he was even able to spend the night with me.

I was lucky I got to see him in person. And I certainly didn’t forget it.

I had spent the last month going to and from school, driving Opal to different appointments and driving to the ranch to check on the horses during the winter months. I had bought myself all the CDs of Yours Truly and even bought the songs on my phone. I had a station dedicated to them on my Pandora app, and even followed them on Spotify.

It was as close to them as I could get. I had almost all of their songs memorized, and I had quickly learned that they weren’t too bad of a boy band. They had their upbeat pop songs, slow, romantic ballads, and the odd in-betweens. I was also able to decipher their voices with ease now. When I first started listening to them, I had a bit of a hunch, but after talking with Flynn and finding out with him, I had learned the distinct qualities of each of their voices.

Damon normally started the song off and sang the first voice. He was a strong tenor with a rounded sound that reverberated through the speakers and sounded full and supported.

Caleb came in during the second half of the first verse and would occasionally sing the chorus. He had the lowest voice of the group. His gruff, low speaking voice easily transferred into his signing voice.

Mason normally sang the chorus. He had the highest voice of all the boys and normally did the fancy riffs and high add ins and parts. His voice just seemed to float. It was angelic, which was probably why he had the biggest following of the group. His voice was my favorite. I loved how he made singing seem so…effortless.

Landon normally did some of the second verse, if not, all of it. He had a cheeky, bright voice. It eerily resembled his happy go lucky personality. He was the baby of the voice and I think that’s also why he had a pretty big following of girls. Landon was also the only member of the group who had dated one girl. I had learned through magazine articles, social media, and Briar and Paisley that he had a girlfriend when he was younger, at the beginning of his career, but she cheated on him and broke his heart. He hasn’t really found the right girl since.

Flynn would also sing the second verse with Landon. He had the most intriguing voice of all the boys. It was high like Mason’s, but it had the rough, rugged feel of Caleb’s. He couldn’t go as high as Mason, but he would sometimes do the fancy high stuff at the end of songs with him. He was also the main member of the band who sang the bridge. Mason would occasionally sing it with him, but the bridge was normally left to Flynn. Although his voice wasn’t my favorite of the group, I did always look forward to hearing him sing the bridge.

I had also spent my free time watching their videos they posted on twitter and YouTube. Every couple of weeks, the guys got together and answered fan questions and goofed around. The fans seemed to really like it, and I knew from Flynn that the boys loved doing them. Those videos also confirmed my suspicions I had developed over the summer.
