Shawn invited Blake and Justin over. I have always wondered why. Maybe because it was just us that day. Emily had gone to buy groceries in Pell City. Cal was working at the hospital. Emily told us that we could have someone over if we got bored enough. She even left us premade meals in the fridge with some snacks.
I didn't invite anyone. I didn't have any people I still talked too. I didn't like the idea of his friends coming over. They were always mean to me whenever Shawn wasn't around. When he was there, we all got along fine. When his friends walked into the house, they didn't say anything. They kind of gawked at everything. I don't blame them. I had never seen a house like theirs either.
Shawn took my hand and lead us down to the game room. Shawn and his friends started playing a game on the Playstation 2 while I read a book.
"I'm gonna get us some grub," he says standing up. I remember looking at Shawn and pleading with my eyes for him to stay but he didn't get the hint.
"Why don't you give us the tour Lexi," Justin asks as Shawn heads up the stairs.
"Sounds like a great idea!" Shawn yells from at the top of the stairs. Damn his hearing.
If only Shawn knew. He would have never invited them over in the first place. I began the tour by showing them the downstairs rooms then we go upstairs. I show them the living room and the kitchen. After that we go through the double doors and I show them Angel's room. Justin walks behind but stops when Blake suddenly stops in front of a door.
"What's that room?" Blake asks.
"It's a closet," I coldly reply.
"You lyin," he looks the door up and down. "Prove it."
I sigh and shake my head. Thinking nothing of it, I go to the door and open it. Before I have time to react, someone pushes me in the closet. The door clicks and locks. I begin to frantically search for the light but I cannot find it.
Darkness is all around me. The closet begins to close in me from all sides and collapse around me. My hands reach for the doorknob but it won't open. No matter which way I turn it or twist it. I start banging on it.
"Let me out!" I scream. The air is escaping from my body faster than I can replace it. I can't breathe. I can't breathe!
I don't remember getting out of the closet. Everything is kind of a blur. I remember the hospital afterwards. I have a very nice nurse. She was very sweet. I will never forget her kindness. I can't forget that day in itself. One of my greatest fears is being trapped in dark places.
Shawn never spoke to Justin or Blake again. They never attempted to apologize to Shawn or me.
