Joanne ~ Back in time

Chapter 6~ The duet

{Joe's POV}
When we got to music we went straight into the studio to work on our duet. When we sat down Dianne got out these perfectly highlighted sheets of paper I hadn't brought anything. Opps.
J-"Sorry I didn't bring anything"
D-"No it's fine I didn't expect you to I just thought it'd be easier if we had the lyrics in front of us."
J-"Alright ok thanks"
She handed me the paper. Dianne grabbed the guitar from the side and told me to go and play on the piano and try and follow the notes. I loved the fact that she was being bossy and taking control. She wasn't scared and I liked that. We ran through the song and had practised it a lot it was getting really good.

The bell was about to go for break so we packed up what we were doing. We decided to work on our solos after lunch, I couldn't wait to hear her sing on her own. At break we decided to go stand with our own friends as we were going to be together all day. I walked over to the lads.

Jack-"Ayy here he is"
Caspar-"About time"
Joe-"I have arrived"
We all laughed.
Conor-"anyway what have you been doing mate"
Joe-"Just working on some music with Dianne"
Byron-"Oh so you guys are ok now"
Joe-"yeah why wouldn't we be"
Jack-"because you two got kicked out of registration yesterday"
Joe-"oh yeah that"
Conor-"what's that supposed to mean"
Joe-"I was basically being d**khead and wouldn't talk to her. I didn't mean to I just closed up"
Byron-"Well bro as long as you guys are ok now that's all that matters"
Joe-"Hey, where did Caspar go"
Jack-"I have no idea"
Joe-"Oli have you seen Casper"
Oil-"yeah mate he just went outside I think he's about to talk to Dianne"
Byron-"why would he talk to her he doesn't know her"
Josh-"he looks like he's about to shout"
Mikey-"where's joe"
I had ran out to see what Caspar was doing and to see if Dianne was ok. When I got there Casper was shouting at Dianne.

Caspar-"DIANNE YOU BETTER STAY AWAY FROM JOE"
Dianne-"Why is he your property"
Caspar-"JUST STAY AWAY FROM HIM SLUT. HONESTLY YOUR SUCH AN IDIOT." he said as he pushed Dianne to the ground. I ran over bending down on to my knees to help her.
J-"Hey D are you ok"
D-"yeah but what's his problem"
C-"My problem, my problem is that YOUR MESSING WITH JOE YOU USELESS, WORTHLESS PIECE OF S**T"
Tears started to stream down Dianne's face. I was so angry at Caspar.
Emily-"Leave her alone bas***d"
C-"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME"
J-"She called you a bas***d"
C-"I thought so"
Caspar started to walk towards Emily with his fists clenched. The rest of the lads had ran out at this point. Byron was protecting Emily, Jack was protecting Toff even though she didn't want him to, and Conor was protecting Maddie.
J-"CALM THE HELL DOWN CASPAR"
C-"WHY"
J-"what's gotten into you"
C-"her" he said pointing at Dianne. "She knows your past and is just trying to make a fool out of you. She's just another girl. Another stupid, ugly and slutty girl."
J-"No she's not"
Emily ran over to help Dianne up, tears were still streaming down her face.
C-"what do you mean no she's not look at her"
J-"I don't need to look at her because I know what she looks like. I can't help but stare at her because she's beautiful. And you calling her stupid and slutty you really crossed the line. Because she is one of the smartest people I have ever met. She may not be great at maths or science but that doesn't matter because she's smart. She's smart enough to know that when you fall you pick yourself back up. She's smart enough to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel even if you can't see it yet. She is smart and she is brave. She is the first person since you know when to make me feel normal and like a human. She's the first person to make me laugh and smile uncontrollably. She's the first person to make me want to get out of bed on a morning. She's the first person to make me feel better. Which is more than what I can say about you. So back off and don't speak to Dianne ever again. Because for the first time in a very long time I feel happy. AND YOUR NOT ABOUT TO TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME."
Everyone stared at me but I didn't care because I meant everything I just said. The bell went and everyone scattered to their lessons the only people left were me and Dianne.

{Dianne's POV}

I can't believe what Joe just said. I actually did mean a lot to him, I thought he was joking when he said it earlier.

J-"Di I'm so sorry for what Caspar said"
D-"Joe let's talk about this more when we get back"

We walked back to the studio together when we got in Joe handed me his handkerchief. I was still crying but not as much as before. Why was I crying, I never cry. Joe must truly mean a lot.

D-"You carry a handkerchief around with you" I sniffled.
J-"yeah but stop changing the topic"
I rolled my eyes then Joe let out a sudden gasp
J-"omg your hands, they're bleeding"
D-"Oh it's only a slight graze"
Joe sat on the sofa and pulled me down so I was sat on his lap. He took the handkerchief out of my hand and began to wipe the blood of my hands.
J-"Tell me if it hurts"
D-"ok"
He was so caring and thoughtful. I winced with pain but tucked my head into Joe's chest for comfort.
J-"I can't believe Caspar did this to you"
D-"It's fine"
J-"No it's not the names that he called you were horrible"
D-"Don't worry I've been called worse things"
J-"By who because they are wrong"
D-"It doesn't matter"
J-"Yes it does matter, I meant every word I said out there and I don't care that people heard me because it's true, it's all true"
D-"I make you happy"
J-"Yeah I just feel so comfortable around you. It's like you have some sort of a calming  and relaxing aura."
We both chuckled.
D-"Joe you make me very happy too"
J-"Good I'm glad I can return a good deed"
D-"I seriously never cry so Joe you must be someone special"
Joe smiled at me whilst brushing my red hair out of my face.
D-"We should probably get on with our solos otherwise we'll have nothing to show Sir when he comes"
J-"yeah your right"
I stood up and got off of Joes lap. When we stood up he pulled me into a hug. He wrapped his arms around me and I snuggled into him he kissed the top of my head lightly and whispered " you really are special D don't let anyone tell you otherwise" I smiled to myself knowing that someone actually cared about me. We stood there in the hug for a few minutes, I don't think either of us wanted it to end. We pulled apart and began to sort out and practice our solos. I decided to sing The climb by Miley Cyrus. I connected with that song a lot and sometimes it even made me emotional. Joe said his song was a surprise until he had practiced it properly and got it perfect.
It was nearly the end of the school day for us so we decided to perform our songs to each other. I went first whilst Joe watched.

{Joe's POV}

Dianne's voice was so angelic and perfect. I could listen to her all day.
J-"That was amazing"
D-"Thanks it's your turn now"
J-"Ok but before I start I wanted to tell you that this song is dedicated to you because you don't know how amazing you are"
She smiled at me. It really did feel good to make her smile. That's all I ever want to do make her smile and laugh and feel loved.
J-"So this ones for you Buswell"

Throughout me singing the song we didn't break eye contact. Even when I stopped singing we still didn't break it, I put my guitar down by the side of the chair and walked over to Dianne still not breaking eye contact. She stood up so our faces were inches apart. I brushed her soft red hair behind her ear and held the back of her head gently. I slowly pressed my lips against hers. She put her arms around my neck pushing our faces closer together. We pull apart, foreheads touching. I whisper to her quietly "I think I'm falling for you Buswell...actually I think I've already fallen" "Good I thought it was just me" She replied. She smiles back into another kiss. I really had fallen for this girl, Zoe was right she is definitely a keeper.
