Chapter 22~New Name

{Macklynn's POV}

E-"MUMMY... Da-D-JOEY"
M-"Eponiné what did you just nearly call Joe"
E-"I don't know"
M-"You just nearly called him dad"
E-"I'm sorry"
M-"Well...why are you sorry"
E-"I don't know"
M-"It's ok he's being a better Dad than our actual dad"

At first, I went to correct Eponiné or maybe even tell her off but I have no reason to after all Joe has already been a bigger part of our lives than are actual dad has. I lifted Eponiné up and sat her on the bed next to me, I put my arm around her and hugged her.

E-"Do you think Joe will stay"
M-"Yeah have you seen the way they look at each other"
E-"Yeah I suppose"
M-"..."
E-"It's not fair"
M-"What's not fair"
Eponiné started to cry.
J-"Hey what did you want"
D-"Eponiné what's wrong"
E-"Nothing"
J-"Come on something's up"
E-"No it's not"
M-"Let me talk to her sister to sister"
D-"Ok"
Joe and Dianne backed out of our room.
M-"What's not fair"
E-"Every other kid in school has a dad and I don't"
M-"So we have Dianne"
E-"Yeah but everyone has a mum and a dad and I don't I just have a mum but I want a dad as well"
M-"and you want Joe to be your dad"
E-"No... Maybe... Yeah"
M-"Eponiné"
E-"But like you said he's been a better dad than our actual one"
M-"Yeah... Come on they're going to be worried about you"
Eponiné and I walked out of the room to see Joe and Dianne stood waiting for us.
J-"Is everything ok"
M-"Yeah" Eponiné nodded along.
D-"Are you sure"
E-"Yeah"
J-"Shall we go and watch a movie"
E-"Yesss... Joey can you carry me"
J-"Definitely"
D-"What do you want to watch"
M-"I don't know"
E-"What movies do you have"
J-"Well let's go and have a look"
Joe took us downstairs to another room where tons of movies were.

D-"I've never been to this living room... how many living rooms do you have"
J-"A few"
E-"Which one have you been to"
D-"This one"
Dianne led us to another part of the house.

M-"Woah this house is huge"
E-"This house is awesome"
M-"Eponiné this is also now our home"

Argg. This house is amazing it's got everything you could dream in a house. I don't even think I've seen it all yet.

E-"So which room out we going to watch the movie in"
J-"Well I was thinking we could watch it in a different room"
M-"How many living rooms do you have"
D-"Are you joking"
J-"Nope follow me"

E-"Wow so we're watching the movie in here"
J-"Yep"
D-"Shall we go and pick a movie first"
M-"Yeah let's go"
Eponiné and I raced off back to the other living room.
E-"I can't see half of them there to high up"
J-"Do you want me to put you on my shoulders"
E-"Yeah Please"

Joe lifted Eponiné onto his shoulders but I still couldn't see half of them.

M-"Dianne can I go on your back"
D-"Of course hop on board"

We were all laughing. I loved my new little family. Joe really is being a great dad well stand in dad but I can't really imagine our biological dad ever coming back.

J-"So what do you wanna watch"
M-"What about lion king"
E-"No"
M-"Actually that movie makes me cry maybe not that one"
J-"What else is up there"
E-"Oo oo what about Little Mermaid with princess Ariel"
J-"Dianne's down here what are you on about"

Eponiné pulled a silly face which made us all laugh.

J-"I'm only joking, can you reach it"
E-"Yep I've got it"

Eponiné pulled the movie from the shelf and we all went to the other room to watch it. We all snuggled up on the big sofa. I was sat in between Joe and Dianne and they had their heads resting against each other. Eponiné was sat on Joe's lap cuddled into him with her legs across Dianne and me.

{Dianne's POV}

The movie had finished and the girls were asleep so we decided to take them upstairs so they could nap. When we came back downstairs we snuggled back up on the sofa just Joe and I. I realised I hadn't asked him yet about Toff's party that was tonight.

D-"Hey, Toff is having a party and she has invited me and she said that you could come along too so do you wanna go"
J-"No thanks"
I sat up so I was facing Joe.
D-"Why not"
J-"Because I don't you can still go through"
D-"I don't want to... not without you"
J-"Besides who would look after the girls"
D-"I could call Adisha or get a babysitter"
J-"I still don't want to go"
D-"Why not... Please Joe"
J-"I haven't been to a party since they died"
D-"What"
J-"I haven't been to a party since my parents died"
D-"Why not"
J-"Because they died picking me up from a party"
D-"I know that why haven't you been to a party though"
J-"Because I'm scared... I'm scared that I'll lose the most important thing to me... I'm scared I'll lose you"
D-"I'd be right by your side"
J-"That doesn't matter"
D-"Why doesn't that matter"
J-"Because knowing my luck I'd lose you somehow"
D-"Joe you won't"
J-"..."

Tears started to roll down both of our faces.

J-"Why are you crying"
D-"Because I love you and it hurts me to know that your hurting"
J-"Di"

Joe leaned over to kiss me. Tears ran down our faces to where our lips met. Both of us could taste the cold tears that had dropped from our cheeks. It made the kiss more passionate and meaningful. Joe pushed his lips more firmly into mine. As a tingle went down my spine I pulled back to look at his perfect face.

J-"I'll come"
D-"What"
J-"I'll come with you to the party"
D-"Really"
J-"Yeah like you said you'll be right by my side"
D-"Yeah and I'm afraid we'll be joint at the hip all night"
J-"Good I wouldn't want it any other way"

We laughed when we both leaned in for one final kiss.

J-"What are we going to do about the girls"
D-"I'll call Adisha first"
J-"Are you sure she wouldn't mind"
D-"Naa she loves looking after the girls"

I walked off to call Adisha and I left Joe to get ready for the party. I walked upstairs to meet Joe in our room.

D-"I just thought this is now our room"
J-"I know I love it, I mean this has been my room for years but it's ten times better with you in it"
I smirked then replied sarcastically.
D-"I know right, I can just brighten up every place because I'm just so amazing"

Joe walked over to me and pecked my lips.

J-"You are amazing and what did Adisha say"
D-"She said she'd be happy to look after the girls and I had to tell her our new address"
J-"How did she take that"
D-"She was fine she was happy that the girls and I were happy"
J-"So everyone's happy"
D-"Yep especially me"
J-"I love you, Buswell"
D-"I love you too Sugg"
