Chapter 13~Truth

{Dianne's POV}

I felt bad that I lied to Joe all I wanted to do was see him but I had the girls here. What was I gonna do? There was a knock at the door.
D-"I'M COMING HOLD ON girls wait here"
I unlocked the door. Stood in front of me was Joe. Omg what was I going to do. I couldn't think about doing anything other than jumping into his arms I hugged him and he hugged me back even tighter.
D-"I'm so sorry"
J-"Don't be I brought you these"
D-"Thank you"
I kissed him and then we hugged again.
E-"Mummy who is it"
J-"What"
M-"D who is it"
D-"Urmmm"
J-"Mummy?"
Joe looked at me with a panicked expression across his face. He started to walk back, my heart dropped.
D-"Girls go inside" Macklynn and Eponiné turned around a went inside waiting for me.
J-"What is going on, I thought you were ill so I bunked off of school to come and help you but turns out you just happen to have 2 daughters that your keeping secret"
D-"There not my daughters"
J-"WHO ARE they then"
D-"I can explain please come in"
J-"I'm sorry for shouting and yes please explain"
I can't believe Eponiné just called me mummy in front of Joe. I mean she did normally call me that but in front of Joe he now thinks I have children.
D-"Please take a seat"

{Joe's POV}

I took a seat I was slightly taken back by the little girl and what she called Dianne. The older one had picked up the little one. I was so nervous did Dianne have kids. What was going on?
M-"Who is this D"
D-"Urmmm"
J-"Hi I'm Joe"
M-"Hi Joe"
The little one just waved so I waved back. They seemed sweet.
D-"Joe is my boyfriend"
M-"Stay away from us, please"
The older one turned away to protect the younger one.
D-"No he's ok"
J-"Hey, Hey it's ok I'm not going to hurt you I actually have something for you"
M-"You do"
J-"Yeah" I took the two red roses out of there bouquet and handed one to the older one then the other to the younger one. The younger one seemed very shy a first but when she saw the rose she loosened up. Thank god the thorns had been taken off.
M-"I'm Macklynn by the way and this is Eponiné, we're Dianne's younger sisters"
J-"Well it's nice to meet you"
Ok that made more sense they were her younger sisters. The two little ones went of into the kitchen which left me and Dianne alone.
D-"Joe I'm so sorry" Dianne put her head in her hands.
J-"Don't be"
D-"No but I -" I cut her off by giving her a long kiss.
D-"Why are you not mad or angry"
J-"I was at first but then I realized there would be a reason you didn't tell me and I've been through enough to know that you not mentioning them was only so you could protect them and keep them safe"
D-"Yeah i suppose ...thank you for understanding"
J-"No problem and plus you got a bouquet of flowers out of it and tons of chocolate and sweets"
D-"Jackpot"
We both laughed.
J-"I'm just so glad your ok" I held her tight as she snuggled up to me.
D-"I'm so glad you came even though I told you not to"
J-"Ok course I was worried"
D-"Your cute, and if you have any questions please ask them, promise me no more secrets from each other"
J-"Promise"
I looked up at Joe and kissed him lightly.
D-"I may have a few things to tell you but not today, today has been stressful enough"
J-"Ok but I've got a question"
D-"Shoot"
J-"Why did Eponiné call you mummy"
D-"Because she barely ever met our mum and when she did she was too young to be able to remember so she gets confused and calls me mum"
J-"Does Macklynn do that"
D-"Not really only if she gets confused but when I say that I mean you know how sometimes you end up calling the teacher mum or dad"
J-"Yeah"
D-"Well it's that sort of confused"
I chuckled a little and Dianne just hugged me; I didn't want her to let me go.
J-"Does Eponiné call you mum all lot"
D-"She mainly calls me mum but sometimes if Macklynn has already called me she will just copy Macklynn and call me Dianne or D or something like that"
J-"Right, I have one more question"
D-"Yeah"
I took a deep breathe hoping I'd get the answer I wanted.
J-"Is that why you wouldn't move in with me, fully at least"
D-"Yeah I didn't want to ask to much of you"
J-"Good I love you so much and I thought I might of freaked you out by asking you that"
D-"No the girls were the reason, I love you Joe and like I said I would've been asking to much of you"
J-"What do you mean"
D-"Well if I fully moved in with you you'd have to look after the girls and that would be asking you to technically take on fatherhood"
J-"So why didn't you ask"
D-"What"
J-"Why didn't you ask I would of said yes"
D-"To what taking on fatherhood"
J-"Yes"
D-"Really"
J-"Yes I love you D and if to be with you and to spend every second of everyday with you meant taking on fatherhood, to look after those little girls I would of said yes"
Dianne kissed me passionately. I really did love her and I would do anything to be with her.
J-"But ..."
D-"No, I don't want any buts" I laughed.
J-"But I think maybe I should get to know the girls a bit better so they can trust me because I've heard what you've been through with your parents and I have no clue if they've been through the same"
D-"Thats sensible and the girls have been through some sh*t well Macklynn is 11 so has seen a lot of what I've seen however Eponiné is 4 so when mum and dad got put in jail she was too young to know what was going on but she's still been through a lot."
J-"Right"
D-"Also didn't you think the girls were a little to old to be my daughters well maybe not Eponiné but definitely Macklynn"
J-"Well yeah but I don't know"
D-"You thought my past is pretty messed up so who knows what's happened"
J-"Sort of but to be honest it didn't really make sense in my head I was just angry so it clouded my judgement"
She laughed at me.
D-"Your silly"
J-"But you still love me"
D-"Yes I do very much Joseph"
She kissed me. I held her close to my body, our hearts were beating in sync.
M-"D"
We pulled apart but stayed in each other's arms hugging. Eponiné hid behind Macklynn's leg squeezing it tightly.  
D-"Yes"
E-"Is Joe going to stay with us" Eponiné said in a whisper.
D-"Urmm"
M-"She means does he live here"
D-"Sort of"
I look at Di she looks up at me and shrugs, she turns back to the girls.
M-"What does that mean"
D-"It means that-"
Dianne walked towards the girls I stayed where I was not knowing what to do.
D-"when you girls go back to your foster parents I live with Joe"
M-"Sorry"
D-"Hey why are you saying sorry"
Dianne picked up Eponiné and hugged Macklynn.
M-"Well we weren't supposed to be back this early"
D-"So I missed you"
M-"Well Yeah but what about Joe"
Macklynn turned to me as she wriggled out of Dianne's grip.
J-"Urmm"
D-"Urmm"
J-"Well I would of had to meet you at some point"
M-"Does that mean your not going to leave" Macklynn was curious but almost looked sad, as if she didn't want me to leave.
J-"No ... well I'm planning on staying in Dianne's life forever so that means I'll also be staying in yours if that's ok with you"
Would the girls accept me? I mean they have known Dianne longer. Would they even like me?
