Chapter 54~Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone

{Dianne's POV}

A few hours had passed and it was time for us to perform the dance. I knew both Joe and I could do it but he was stressing because we hadn't practised much of the routine.

D-"Joe it's gonna be okay"
J-"No it's not everyone else had four weeks to practise, we had less than two days"
D-"So... we know the dance and we can't literally know it any more than we already do"
J-"What if I forget it"
D-"You're not going to"
J-"You don't know that"
D-"Well if you forget it likelihood is you'll be holding me so I'll fall"
J-"I know we have so many lifts in this routine"
D-"We do in all of our routines"
J-"I know but what if I drop you"
D-"You could have dropped me every time we practise and when we perform but you haven't yet"
J-"Exactly yet"
D-"Joe, JOE"
J-"You've got another quote for me haven't you"
D-"Yep"
Joe smiled.
J-"Go on"
D-"Don't be pushed around by the fears in your mind be led by the dreams in your heart"
J-"..."
D-"It is your dream to dance"
J-"Not Exactly, it's my dream to dance with you"
D-"Well if you get your ass on stage you will be dancing with me"
J-"Fine"

Joe chuckled. Deep down he knows he can do this. We've got this. I hope we do anyway.

Once Joe and I were both off stage we ran into each other's arms.

J-"We did it"
D-"I told you we would"
J-"Are you Okay that didn't hurt did it"
D-"A little bit"
J-"Are you sure you should be dancing"
D-"I mean it's a little late for that now and anyway it was only a small pain I've had worse period cramps than that"
J-"..."
D-"Seriously I'm Fine"
J-"Okay"
D-"I'm so proud of you"
J-"I love you"
D-"I love you more"
J-"Not possible"

When Joe said 'not possible' I hugged him so much tighter than I already was. It reminded me of how we used to be and well I loved who we were but I think I might just love the new version of Joanne a bit more. Now we know what we both want and we were both already quite mature people but now we are even more mature. I think although it's been extremely painful in more ways than one overall it was good for us.

D-"I'm happy again"
J-"What"
D-"I'm happy again, for those weeks that we weren't together I wasn't happy but now I think I'm happy again and it probably helps that I'm now allowing myself to be happy"
J-"I've really missed you and I'm so sorry you weren't happy"
D-"I'm sorry to"
J-"Okay I think we both need to stop apologizing"
D-"Fine I love you"
J-"That your allowed to say but I still love you more"
D-"Urmm yeah and that's still not possible"

We giggled as we shuffled closer and held each other tighter than before.

The scores were in. We were going up against the best of the best from the UK. 50 contestants go through this round out of 200 that means 150 contestants don't go through so far everyone who has gone through has got over 92. There was one spot left and if we were gonna beat this other couple we needed to get over 97.6
The music was intense, our palms were sweaty, and our hearts were beating faster than they ever had before.
"Joe and Dianne to go through you need over 97.6 you got..."

"98 Which means your going through"

We dropped to the floor in tears. These tears were happy, these tears were good. We did it. Mine and Joe's heads rested against each other whilst we hugged each other; we were both still on the floor.

We had arrived back home but not long after Joe quickly popped out to get some groceries. I think I may have just heard him come through the door. Yep, it's him. Joe was calling me.

J-"DIANNE"
D-"YEAH"
J-"COME HERE"
D-"K"

D-"What's up"
J-"You need to pack a bag and grab your passport"
D-"Where are we going"
J-"The city of love and romance... Paris"
D-"You're joking"
J-"Nope look here are the tickets"
D-"Omg you're taking me to Paris"

Joe stepped back and smirked. I was confused.

M-"Nope he's taking us all to Paris"

I turned my head to see my girls, Macklynn and Eponiné. I looked back at Joe with tears in my eyes. Boy, I love this man.
