Chapter 30~The first Sorry

{Joe's POV}

We arrived home and swiftly got in the car to go and pick up the girls.

D-"I can't wait to sing fast car with you"
J-"We haven't even practised yet"
D-"I know but I'm just excited"
J-"I love the fact that you get really excited over the little things it's really endearing"

I smiled at Dianne and she smiled back. I still couldn't get over how captivating and charming her smile was. I could stare at it all day. I mean I wouldn't because that would be weird but it's so... you get the picture.

D-"Let's girls pic- let's pick up the girls"
J-"Got there eventually anyway what were you going to say"
D-"I don't actually know where I was going with the sentence"
J-"Okay"

We both burst out laughing. I love the silly side of Dianne and when it comes out she never fails to make me laugh. When we arrived at Eponiné's school we saw a very smiley face wave at us.

E-"Daddy"

Eponiné was running towards me and as she did Dianne quickly said "You've been here for what a week maybe less but you're already her favourite"

J-"Well I am quite the charmer"
D-"Urm"

Eponiné jumped into my arms and I spun her round in the air. When I stopped she threw her arms even tighter around my neck.

J-"It's not a competition but as I said I am quite the charmer"
D-"Okay you keep telling yourself that"
J-"I charmed you didn't I"
D-"Excuse me but I'm pretty sure it was the other way round"
J-"No it wasn't"

We walked back to the car, fastened Eponiné seat belt then fastened our own.

D-"It was the other way round because I was there when you were crying"
J-"Yeah but we had that small argument in registration then we got sent to the music studio where I charmed you"
D-"No you didn't"
J-"I think you'll find I did"
D-"Urm no you didn't"
J-"Yes I did"
D-"You're memory is confused"
J-"no it's not"
D-"If I remember correctly after you told me that I made you happy because I don't see you as broken and alone I think I said something along the lines of I don't know what's happened in your life but I know that you're not broken or alone. If you were alone you have me now. And if you are broken then let me help you pick the pieces back up"
J-"..."
D-"You know I said that, don't even deny it"
J-"Ok fine you did say that and I will admit that got me a little bit but before that, I said you make me feel happy and nothing else does really"
D-"Yeah but you were talking about a drawing and putting colour on it"
J-"Yes and none of my paintings had colour on before the one I drew of you and I explained it like colour can transform a drawing but I had never really drawn anything happy or that made me feel happy"
D-"Yes then I said so I make you feel happy and you replied"
J-"Yes because you do"
D-"Exactly So I must have charmed you before that so I made you feel happy"
J-"Oh I see the point"
D-"Thank you"
J-"But I charmed you first"
D-"How did you"
J-"I was making you laugh"
D-"Oh well done because that really makes me go weak at the knees"
J-"You're being sarcastic aren't you"
D-"Of course I'm being sarcastic a cat could make me laugh"
J-"Did you go weak at the knees when you saw me"
D-"No but they say that when you meet your soul mate you don't go weak at the knees you remain calm and relaxed"
J-"..."
D-"I was calm and relaxed when I first saw you before you made me angry"
J-"I was calm and relaxed too but then you started to talk and I closed up and panicked"
D-"You're silly"
J-"But you love me for it"
D-"Yeah I do"
E-"Daddy do I make you happy"
J-"Of course you do how is that even a question"
E-"Well you said mummy made you feel happy but you didn't mention anyone else"
D-"That's because daddy didn't know you and Macklynn then"
J-"Yeah what we're talking about happened before I met you"
E-"So I do make you happy"
J-"Of course you do"
