Joanne ~ Back in time

Chapter 36~Round 2

{Zoe's POV}

We arrived at the bowling alley where Joe and Macklynn were already sat down with drinks, Alfie and Eponiné were at the bar getting their drinks and Dianne and I had just walked in. We walked over to Joe and Macklynn. Joe definitely wasn't happy that he lost. He'd always been so competitive even when we were little. He would get frustrated when he realised he would never be older than me. I'm sorry but I can't change that. He's so competitive sometimes and other times he doesn't care but today he definitely cared.

J-"Dianne I've already got you a drink"
D-"Did you poison it"
J-"No why"
Z-"You look so angry at the fact that you lost, you're so competitive"
I turned to Dianne and Macklynn to finish the sentence, Joe could still clearly hear though.
Z-"Honestly, you'd think because he's such a loser the competitiveness would have been knocked out of him by now"
J-"Shut up Zoe if you're not careful I will poison your drink"

Macklynn and I laughed. Dianne smirked before sitting next to Joe and hugging him. Joe just stared me dead in the eye and shook his head slightly before Dianne turned his head with her finger and kissed him lightly. Joe shoulders relaxed as he lent into the kiss more they broke apart with huge smiled on their faces. I love seeing Joe so happy and I'm surprised Dianne can calm Joe down when he's angry or frustrated, I still haven't mastered the art of that and I don't think I ever will at least I don't need to anymore because he has Dianne. Alfie and Eponiné joined us with their drinks and even one for me.

Z-"Thanks guys"
A-"It's alright"

Eponiné went to sit in between Joe and Dianne. They happily made a space for her.

M-"Are we eating first"
Z-"Hopefully"

"I refuse to bowl if we aren't" Dianne tried to say with a straight face before she and everyone else burst into laughter.

D-"But seriously I'm starving"
J-"Same"
Z-"Let's order then"

We ordered and our food quickly arrived. We all ate quickly. Macklynn and Eponiné were especially excited about bowling. The lane was all set up and we all chose random names for ourselves.

D-"I'll be Donna"
J-"I'll be John"
A-"I'll be Archie"
Z-"I'll be Zara"
M-"I'll be Matilda"
E-"I'll be Elena"
D-"I think we've picked some really great names"
Z-"Yeah definitely"
J-"World class"

We all laughed. I'm surprised Macklynn and Eponiné liked Alfie and me after the way I reacted when I found out about them, then again children are very forgiving. I pull out my vlogging camera and started recording. "You probably saw in the last clip that I was at the mini golf with these guys" I turned the camera so everyone was in the shot. "You probably have no idea who these people are though so obviously there's Alfie who you've definitely met before, that's my brother Joe who if your a new viewer you may not have seen then the beautiful redhead is his girlfriend" I put my arm around Dianne's shoulder she waved and said "hi" to the camera. Then I continued "she is also my new best friend as well because I am old and am no longer trendy or cool whereas this one is" Dianne quickly replied "I am pretty cool aren't I" we both laughed before Macklynn interrupted "I'm way cooler though" We laughed even more.
Z-"This is Macklynn Dianne's daughter/ sister"
D-"That doesn't sound great"
Z-"No it doesn't let me rephrase that so biologically Macklynn and the little one Eponiné over there are Dianne's little sisters but in real life, Macklynn and Eponiné are Joe and Dianne's daughters"
D-"Yeah slightly confusing but you know that's life"
Z-"Yep"
J-"Donna it's your go"
D-"I'm coming, John"
A-"That's not their names by the way"
Z-"Oh yeah for bowling we all have different names" I turned the camera so it was facing the score screen.
D-"Yesss"
J-"What is with you today why are you winning at everything"
D-"I don't even know"
Z-"You're on a roll"
D-"I know right"
M-"I don't think it's fair"
D-"Why not"
M-"Because we are part of the same family and you keep winning and I keep losing and not doing very well"

We all burst out laughing. I know my viewers will love Macklynn and her sense of humour. We finished the game in the same places as before. Yes, I came last again. I know it's shocking that Eponiné beat me, after all, she's like 4 but there you go.

E-"Auntie Zoe why are we both so bad at everything"
Z-"I have no idea but you know if we lose we're gonna lose together"
E-"Even Afee got beat by Macklynn"
Z-"I know your mum, dad and older sister are just well to talented"
E-"Yeah but I'm not"
Z-"I'm sure you will be when you are there age"
E-"That's a long time"

I giggled at Eponiné's comments. I swear she thinks they are like hundreds of years older than her. She's so funny. I'm glad I caught all that on camera. Sometimes vlogging everything can be stressful as it feels like you're getting in peoples faces but moments like these I'm glad I do it so I can remember these special moments with the people that I love. I'm so glad Eponiné and Macklynn did accept Alfie and I. They truly are amazing young girls.

{Dianne's POV}

Bowling had just finished Eponiné went over to Zoe and Macklynn went over to Alfie. Joe came up to me with a tender hunger in his eyes.

J-"Hey champion"
D-"Hey loser"
J-"I'm not a loser"
D-"You sure"
J-"Yeah I have you"
D-"Smooth"

Joe held me gently, cupping my face with one hand. He leaned down and softly kissed me. I was nearly breathless as Joe showered me in loving, warm kisses. Joe drew back to study the features of my face. I felt my cheeks blush as Joe leaned in further. He tipped my head up and deepened the kiss. We slowly broke away our heads resting against each other as we caught our breaths. "I love you" "I love you more" "Not possible" We both smirked as we walked back to the cars with everyone in front of us.

E-"Auntie Zoe are you coming with us again"
Z-"No sorry sweetie"
A-"We've got to go home and so do you"
E-"Mummy I don't want Auntie Zoe and Uncle Afee to go"
D-"I know but they have to"

I put up Eponiné as her face grew sadder and sadder.

M-"Will you come back"
A-"Of course we will"
Z-"Yes definitely"
M-"Good"

Everyone exchanged hugs goodbye, Eponiné remained in my arms. She never liked goodbyes yet they always seemed to happen. Tears started to roll down Eponiné's delicate cheeks. Joe wiped them away before taking her and placing her in the car wrapping her seatbelt tightly around her. We headed home. It was a quiet journey, both Macklynn and Eponiné had fallen asleep. Joe and I were both enjoying the silence occasionally turning our gaze off of the road and into each other's eyes. I love this man so much. This feels too good to be true apart from this is my reality. I'm living this fairytale. Me Dianne Buswell is living the dream life. How times have changed. I wish all the people who caused my damage and hurt in my childhood could see me now.
