Chapter 5~ I'm sorry

{Dianne's POV}

When Joe came around he looked at me his eyes red and his forehead blotchy. He quickly stood up pretending nothing had happened.

J-"Lunch is nearly over so music will start soon we'd better get ready"
D-"Joe"
J-"What, I'm fine"
D-"Joe, your clearly not fine"
He looked down at the floor.
D-"If you ever need to talk just call me"
I took him into another hug. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead gently.
J-"I will, thank you by the way and I'm sorry that you had to see and deal with that"
D-"Honestly, you have nothing to be sorry for"
I smiled at him and we walked out of the studio and headed to the music classroom.

{Joe's POV}

I can't believe I just broke down in front of her like that. But she was so kind about it and non judgmental. I wish more people were like her. When we got to music we sat next to each other and shared a few giggles and smiles throughout the lesson, the lesson soon ended and it was the end of the first day. It felt like it went on forever but I didn't mind as today was the day that I became friends with Dianne.

Mr L-"Class dismissed apart from Joe and Dianne I need to speak to both of you"
He took me and Dianne into his office where he poured himself a cup of coffee.
Mr L-"It looks like you two are getting on better now"
J-"Yeah, yeah we are"
I turned and smiled at Dianne, she smiled back.
D-"Well Joe decided to stop being a d**khead and talk to me"
Before Mr Light could speak Dianne spoke again.
D-"And before you tell me off about my language I know what I said I was just repeating what I said this morning"
We all laughed. God, she had the best laugh.
Mr L-"Right before Dianne swears again"
D-"Hey"
Me and Mr Light laughed again.
D-"Anyway continue"
Mr L-"Right, I want you two to do a duet together I think both of your musical talents would mash together well."
J-"What you want us to sing together"
D-"How do you know that we can sing you've never heard us"
Mr L-"Let's just call it a hunch"
J and D-"Fine"
Mr L-"So do you have a song in mind, I know I've only just asked you so it's okay if you want time to figure it out by the way this is as well as your solos but you could help each other with them aswell"
Me and Dianne nodded in sync.
D-"oh what about Roar by Katy Perry"
Mr L-"Good choice, Joe you okay with that"
J-"Yeah I trust her"
Dianne smiled and we both walked out of his office to go home.
J-"Why did you choose that song"
D-"Well when it says You held me down, but I got up already brushing off the dust. Whoever or what ever made you feel the way you felt this afternoon that's for them."
I smirked and she smiled at me. I've been to countless therapists and counsellors but none of them have made me feel any better, but then Dianne comes along and does it with ease. She puts everybody to shame. I should tell her that.
J-"Wait before you go I just wanted to say that you put everyone else to shame"
D-"What are you on about Joe"
J-"I'm saying you put everyone else to shame because your so amazing and caring and thoughtful I've never met anyone like you"
D-"Well thank you and I've never met anyone quite like you either"
J-"You don't have to say that, I was a crying mess earlier"
Dianne shook her head.
D-"So what if you were everyone needs to cry sometimes. I respect you for showing your emotions you know"
Dianne made me feel better and less self conscious. How does she do that?
J-"Thank you so much I'll see you tomorrow and don't forget tomorrow your coming to mine after school"
D-"I won't and thank you"
J-"Thank you for what"
She ran off so she didn't have to answer I just laughed to myself and walked off home. The next day couldn't come quicker as both me and Dianne only had a few lessons and they are the same ones so I got to spend pretty much the whole day with her.

I woke up early this morning which was unusual. When I went down stairs I saw Zoe was already awake with her bags packed.

Zoe=Z
Z-"hey broseph I can't give you a lift to school today as I am going back to my own house with Alfie today. The other car is in the garage if you want to use that"
J-"I think I'll walk it looks like a nice day and I could do with some fresh air"
Z-"What's changed you, your no longer a vampire"
I laughed and simply replied with "I don't know"
Z-"Well whoever she is she's a keeper I haven't seen you this happy in months maybe even years"
J-"What makes you think it's a girl"
Z-"Well it was just a guess but by the look on your face I'm right have you kissed her yet"
J-"What no we're just friends"
Z-"Ok if you say so"
J-"What we are"
Z-"Yes but you don't want to stay friends you want to be more than that otherwise you wouldn't get so defensive"
Maybe Zoe was right oh I don't know.
Z-"What does she look like"
J-"Well she's beautiful probably the most beautiful person I've ever seen. In fact she's not probably the most beautiful she is the most beautiful girl ever"
Z-"By any chance is this her" Zoe said picking up the drawing I drew of her yesterday.
J-"Omg why do you have that"
Z-"You left it down here yesterday when you finished colouring it"
J-"oh ok"
Z-"Joe don't hurt her she honestly is a keeper"
J-"Why do you keep saying that"
Z-"Because she is she has brightened your life even though you met her yesterday. Not one of your drawings has had colour in them since you know when and I haven't seen you smile like this since before they passed."
Zoe was right. Dianne has made me feel better, like a human again.
J-"Anyway, I'm gonna be late for school if you keep talking to me"
Z-"Ok just promise me you'll think about what I said and won't hurt her"
J-"Zoe I wouldn't dream of hurting her she already means so much to me"
Z-"See ya Broseph"
J-"See ya"
I waved to Zoe. She was gone I had the house to myself again. However this time it felt empty. I better get moving.
I got ready for school and started to walk. About 5 minutes into the walk I saw Dianne. She had her headphones in and she was singing. I had no idea she was such a good singer. She was singing Let me love you. She really does have good taste in music I can't wait for our duet.

When she finished I crept up behind her and made her jump."OMG you gave me such a fright"she said breathless. I just laughed she smacked my arm lightly.
J-"Your running late aren't you I've never seen you come into school late"
D-"Yeah I just slept in"

{Dianne's POV}
The truth was the first few nights after Macklynn and Eponiné left I never really slept well.When I saw Joe this morning it made me feel so much better. He just put me at ease you know. I thought about him most of the night which sounds slightly creepy but it was the truth.
D-"I've got the lyrics for our duet I thought we could work on it together today in music."
J-"Of course"
God what was this boy doing to me. I get butterflies every time I speak to him but when I do it's so natural and comforting. Do I have feelings for Joe? No of course I don't it's probably just something I ate.
When we got into school the bell had already gone for registration so me and Joe quickly walked to it. When we got there everyone was already sat down, we quickly rushed to the back before Miss noticed. As we sat down Joe whispered in my ear "sorry" I smirked and replied "it's fine she hasn't noticed"
we both laughed. Finally, registration was over and we could go to music.
