"Girls!" I hear Midnight's manager call out. I sit up and place my phone down on the cupboard top next to me. "Wake up! We are going away!"
I hop out of my fluffy Kumamon bed. I don't bother about changing, today is my day off and I'm going to live it how I want to.
"Manager-nim? What do you mean?" Lea asks as I walk out of my room.
"We are going across the country for two days!" Our Manager exclaims. "For a short holiday before we leave for America."
"Cool. Where are we going?" CoCo asks rubbing her eyes, I sit down at my seat at the table.
"I was thinking Daegu? Busan? Sokcho?" at the mention of Sokcho I choked on air. No, we can't go there.
"Sokcho? Oh Mihyeon! I've always wanted to go there!" Lea says. "Can we go to Sokcho Manager-nim?"
"You know that Sokcho is filled with foreigners?" I say really hoping that we don't have to go there. Not there.
"Relax Chae, there isn't going to be any fans! Besides that's where Eunchae grew up! That's were you and Eun met! Why don't we go there?" MIMI pipes up.
"That's a great idea! How about three days instead of two?" Our Manager questions.
"Yes! Please!" Lea and MiMi beg, CoCo just laughs at them.
"Ok girls, before you woke up your personal assistants have packed your bags. You should go and collect them from them, don't keep them waiting."
"Wait? Junghee eonni packed my bags? Why didn't you tell me? I don't Junghee to do all of my jobs for me! I'm able, aren't I?" I quickly say after he finishes.
"CM, unselfishness is a good trait to have, I didn't tell you because you work to much." Dowon -Our Manager- explains. I just nod like I understand because really I don't I have no idea what he means by I'm not selfish.
"Ok," I stand up and grab a banana milk bottle out of the fridge, clearly labelled 'Do not drink this, thank you, CM' I pop my straw into the top and grab my shoes and wallet.
"What is she doing?" I hear MiMi mutter to CoCo.
"She's either going to buy Junghee -Her assistant- something to say that she's sorry that Junghee had to pack her bags." CoCo whispers back, "Or she's running away. Hopefully it's the first one."
"I'll be back, I have to head down to Junghee Eonni, hopefully she can give me a lift to the store. Yes, I know we need to leave soon but I really must." I say exiting the room.
"I told you she would go to the store to get Junghee something." CoCo says and they burst into laughter.
Eventually, later that night we ended up in Sokcho, CoCo shared it on her instagram, I told her she probably shouldn't but it turned out MIMI and Lea both put it on their twitter and Instagram.
Just seeing this place again was giving me chills, I feel like I could burst into tears.
"Look over there! That's where Me and Chae met!" Coco says pointing to the restaurant on the corner. "She came in all in a rush, asking how much it costed to get to Seoul, that's where NamJoon lived right?"
I just hum a yes and continue to look out the window. This street, it's so fimilar.
"Manager-nim? Can we please skip this street?" I ask. I really don't what to go down this street.
"I'm sorry, but this is the way to go to get to our hotel." He says.
"Woah! Look at that house! It's so pretty." MIMI says pointing to the house I dreaded the most.
"Pretty but extremely ugly, ugly people, ugly smell, ugly lifestyle, I hate it." I blurt. The nice fancy house they were admiring was the house I grew up in. My mother had a lot of money when we moved to Sokcho as she used to be a famous Chinese singer.
"Chae, are you ok? Why are you crying?" Lea asks, I didn't even realise I was crying, but I know the reason.
"I lived there. That's my home." Is all I say. It's too depressing for me.
"Wait? You lived there? You grew up in Sokcho?" MIMI questions.
"You're actually telling us where you grew up?" Lea questions.
"I honestly thought you grew up in Seoul." MIMI says, "I didn't realise that you grew up here."
"How about we stop in to see your parents?" Lea says "Do th-"
"No, never!" I blurt cutting her off. "That place is like living in nightmare."
"Ok them, wait Eun did you know that Chae grew up here?" Lea asks.
"Yes, we used to be classmates until she just stopped coming, when we became friends I never pressured her about it. I only knew it had something to do with her home life." CoCo says, "To be honest I didn't know she lived in that house tho, I've never visited her there, we usually met at my family's restaurant where we used to work."
Finally we arrived and our assistants took our luggage to our rooms, I tried to help but Manager-nim and the girls wouldn't let go of me.
We decided that we should go to Sindasin, which is CoCo's family's restaurant but we haven't told CoCo because we want to suprise her.
CoCo was really suprised that we went to Sindasin, she even cried when she saw her mother and father, her brother wasn't working today. To be honest I was jealous that their family was perfect unlike mine.
Mrs Kim embraced me when she was told who I was. I used to work here with CoCo to save up money.
"Chaerin! It's been so long! It's so great to see you!" Mrs Kim exclaims as she seats us. "I saw your father the other day, he's doing better."
"That's good, but I'm probably not ready to see him anytime soon." I explain. Mrs Kim was friends with my mother and she knew my father, that's how I knew I could trust CoCo.
"Yeah, I would play it on the safe side too, he doesn't drink as much as he is just getting richer and richer by the moment," Mrs Kim says ordering our food.
"Ah, yes Him and his money." I laugh.
"I believe he's planning to move out of his house and upgrade soon." Mrs Kim says.
"Really? I might invest in that them." I say.
We quickly finish our meals and say our goodbyes to the Kims. Eun explains we will be back tomorrow to see her brother. I kept thinking about how my father was going to sell our house when I look up to see a car heading straight for us not stopping. I catch eyes with the driver, I know we are stuffed.
"Move!" I yell, pushing the girls to the other side of the road.
I guess he's still the same but I'm not dying today. No, not today.
