-I made an adjustment to the previous chapter, where Aoyama isn't on the Cavalry team, my reasons will be revealed shortly.-

(Y/n's P.O.V)

I stepped into the waiting room, and walked over to a corner. No one was in the room yet, so I put up a wall of feathers and quickly changed into my gym uniform. I let the wall dissipate as I pulled my jacket on. I heard the door open and I turned to see Todoroki standing in the doorway. "Hi." I said, zipping up the front of my uniform over my tank top. "Hey. Shinso told me what happened with the robot. I wanted to apologize." "He did? Oh, well it's not too big of a deal, I'm okay now. But thanks." I responded, and we both took a seat at the table. After a few awkward seconds of silence, Ojiro walked in. "(Y/n), could you step out and talk with me and Shoda for a second?" "Shit- okay. I'll be back in a bit." I responded, and glanced back at Todoroki.

I exited, and followed them down a hallway. "So, what is it?" I sighed, leaning back against a wall. "Do either of you remember anything about the cavalry battle?" Shoda asked. Ojiro shook his head, then they both looked expectantly at me. "So? Do you?" They both asked. I stretched my neck back and sighed "Yes." I said. "What? How?" They both asked in surprise. I explained "Shinso's quirk puts you under his control if you answer him. You don't remember what happened afterwards." "Then how come he didn't use his quirk on you?" "Cause he's my friend and I volunteered to be on his team." "Why didn't you say anything? You knew what he was doing was wrong? Why'd you let him control us?" Ojiro asked, looking upset. "Hey, we got you into the battle tournament. I'm sorry, but it's because of us that you're here." I snapped back, defensive. "I expected better, (Y/n)." Ojiro said, and turned away, Shoda following him, leaving me alone in the hall. I looked down, and nervously rubbed my arm. After a bit, I sat down to ponder my thoughts and how to make it up to them. I pushed myself up and walked towards the field.

We all stood together beneath the podium, looking up at Midnight. After explaining the rules, Ojiro raised his hand, and once called on, he said "I understand that the tournament event is a rare opportunity and that walking away would be foolish, but while everyone was giving their best on their own, I wasn't doing my best. I honestly don't remember anything from the battle, and I wasn't acting on my own decisions." He stared over at Shinso. "No, Ojiro, it's fine! Please stay!" Hakagure and Mina tried to persuade him. "Everyone gave their all, and I would be ashamed to stand amongst  them when I didn't do anything." "Me too." Shoda piped up from the back. I frowned, then let out a heavy sigh and raised my hand. "What? You too?" Midnight said, exasperated. "Yes. It's my fault they feel this way. I had the opportunity to make things right then and there, but I didn't. I wouldn't feel comfortable going forward knowing that people had to give up this opportunity because of me." "What?" Ojiro murmered, and he and Shoda turned back to me. "Really?" Shoda questioned. "Sorry guys. I guess we'll quit together." I responded quietly. They both gave me a defeated smile and I forced one as well. Honestly, I couldn't give two shits what they thought of me, but I've already distanced myself enough and already the majority of the class hates me, so I might as well try to be nice. There's always next year. Oh well. "What about you? You gonna give up and grovel too because of guilt or what?" Midnight said, clearly fed up, and pointing at Shinso. "No. I earned my place." He responded. And with that, they showed the lineup and Ojiro, Shoda and I walked off the field.

"Are you trying to make me look bad?" Shinso joked. He was walking through the halls with me. "Nah, I just want my classmates to stop thinking I'm trash. If possible." "You're not trash." Shinso responded, with a slight smile. "Tell that to Iida, he's hated me since the start. '(Y/n)! So improper!' 'How rude!'" I joked, imitating Iida's voice and hand movements. "Eh, who cares. Why listen to a guy who acts and walks like there's a stick up his ass?" He responded, and we both snickered at the thought. We turned a corner, and I suddenly bumped into someone. I fell backwards and looked up. "Shit." I muttered, and I felt myself almost wilt, and shrink in intimidation. I stared up into the cold, hateful eyes of No. 2 hero, Endeavor. "So, your the useless girl who quit? Hawks must be so disappointed, if he even cares you exist. You really think what you did matters?" I swallowed and muttered "No, sir. I'm sorry for bumping into you." and keeping my eyes lowered towards the ground, stood up and hurried away with Shinso.

(Todoroki's P.O.V)

I was about to turn the corner after Shinso and (Y/n), but I heard a thud and then my old man's voice say "So, your the useless girl who quit? Hawks must be so disappointed, if he even cares you exist. You really think what you did matters?" and (Y/n)'s voice weakly reply "No, sir. I'm sorry for bumping into you." then the sound of footsteps quickly walking away. I turned the corner and came face to face with him. "What do you want?" I asked him. "You're acting disgracefully, Shoto. If you would simply use the power in your left side, you would've had an overwhelming victory in both the first rounds." "Tsch." I hissed and walked away, towards the waiting room.
