(Todoroki's P.O.V)
I waited with the others, and soon 6 more of our classmates returned. I stood behind while Jiro, Momo, Tsu, and Shoji greeted them. "Oh, hey! What a relief. I was starting to get so worried." Yaoyorozu said, and Kaminari replied "No need to worry about us, Yao-momo. What's up? When did you guys pass? You been here long?" "We just finished as well. Todoroki and (Y/n) beat us." Shoji explained, and Jiro walked up and teased "I was kinda shocked that Bakugo wasn't here already. But I get it now. It's because you were with him." "Oh, come on! Why is everyone dragging me today?" Kaminari protested, Bakugo joining the group silently. "Hey, Todoroki! Nice job passing, though I'm not surprised. So, (Y/n) is here too? Where is she?" Midoriya asked, waving to me. I turned to look at (Y/n), and said "She's over there. She hasn't moved since we got here." Midoriya's face twisted in concern "I hope she's ok. Did she get hurt or something?" "Tch." Bakugo scoffed, then turned and walked over to (Y/n). Midoriya and I watched in confusion as he stopped in front of her, then crouched down to eye-level. He put his hand on her shoulder, and she looked up at him. She looked drained and hollow, a look similar to when she returned from the kidnapping. From here we couldn't hear what they were saying, but they talked back and forth, then (Y/n) smiled and nodded, earning a relieved smile from Bakugo in return. She reached out her hand, and Bakugo stood up and pulled her up onto her feet. She let go of his hand and they walked back over together.
(Y/n's P.O.V)
I listened to each announcement of the fewer and fewer spots left, and sighed. I didn't have anything else to do, so I just stayed here. Jiro, Momo, Tsu, and Shoji all passed, and I watched them through a gap between my arms and legs. A part of me hoped at least one of them would come over to see if I was ok, but no. Not even after I was pointed out to them by Shoto, not a thing. I sighed and closed my eyes, waiting for the announcement that the next part of the test was starting. After a while, I heard footsteps approaching me, but I assumed they'd keep going past, but instead, they stopped and the shifting of fabric and clanking of metal sounded in front of me, and a hand was placed on my shoulder. I raised my head slowly, blinking a few times. "Get up. You're not going to do this right now. You can brood all you want back at UA, but this is the license exam. Prove that you can do this." Bakugo said, staring directly into my eyes with a fierce, determined expression. "But what if I can't? What if I don't want to do this anymore? I'm tired, Bakugo." I responded, setting my head back down on my knees. "Hey, I'm talking to you! You aren't going to give up. You've dealt with worse, I've seen it, so don't let your head fuck you over like this!" He demanded, and I realized he was right. I looked back up at him and smiled "I'm sorry. You're right, I've felt worse and kept going, I'm not gonna quit now. Especially when I'm so close to beating you." I smirked at the last part, and he smiled in relief and pulled me up onto my feet. "Beat me? In your dreams, bird bitch. Come on, we have to take off these targets." he responded, and I chuckled, actually happy by my own choice this time. Bakugo and I got the key and removed our targets, then joined our class to watch the big screen.
We all stood in silence as the spots quickly ticked down, but suddenly our classmates that were left unleashed a crazy sting of combo attacks, and our whole class passed the test. "The last students passed! Every spot is now filled! One hundred students will advance! The end is finally here! Wah-hoo!" Mera shouted over the speakers. "YEAH!" Kirishima and Kaminari shouted, excitedly fistpumping at our class's success. "Our entire class passed the test, I'm so excited!" "I'm so proud of us!" Uraraka and Sero cheered. "We really pulled it off, you guys." Midoriya sighed in relief. I gave him a soft smile and watched the class cheer. When our classmates arrived, they were crowded and hugged and congratulated, but Shoto, Bakugo and I stayed back. "Oh, right. For the 100 of you who passed the first test, please turn your attention to the screen." Mera announced. I walked over and sat beside Bakugo and watched the screen intently. Out of nowhere, the peaceful images of the now abandoned test arena were blown up and turned to a disaster scene. "Um- ok. Wow." I murmured, surprised. "There's only one more round to the exam. Your goal is simple: undertake rescue exercises and save the bystanders who are trapped in these disaster sites. Use this time to show us how you will carry out successful rescue procedures once you receive your provisional licenses. Treat this as though it were the real thing." Mera announced, and camera showed kids and old people rise from the rubble. My classmates were alarmed by the dangers of this, but I knew it would be explained. "These specialists have been trained as professional 'persons in need of rescue'. They're very popular. Introducing the 'Help Us Company', also known as HUC for short." he continued, and I mentally face palmed. There really is a job for everything, isn't there. "The HUC bystanders have dressed up like injured victims and will be located throughout the disaster site. We'll be judging how well you keep them safe as you go about your mission. Oh, by the way. We'll be scoring you on a point system. If you have more points then the benchmark at the time the exercise comes to an end, then you pass the exam. We'll start in ten minutes. Take care of any necessary preparations now." I looked at the scene, and images of Best Jeanist flashed through my mind, and the rush to get him and the other man to safety. I know how to do this, I have experience. I just need to keep going.
"This looks familiar." Iida observed to Midoriya. "It's like Kamino Ward. I wonder if they based it off that." he replied, and I walked over to listen. "It's true that the situations are similar. But our only goal then was to save Bakugo and Takami from the villains. We let the pros handle search and recovery." Iida continued, and I interrupted "Well, you guys did. I remember Kamino very clearly, and while you went off with Bakugo, I rescued Best Jeanist and a bystander from the rubble and ran them to a hospital. I saw the consequences of that event up close. This is hardly comparable. But I agree, it seems to be based on that event. I'm sorry, my point is, this is gonna be hard, and we need to be prepared to be as supportive and helpful as possible, because if this were real, there would be cases like Jeanist's where someone is hardly clinging to life, and your job then and there is to make sure they keep going. I don't care if this is a test, we need to treat this like the real deal. I know he already said so, but I thought my experience might help push that." I unintentionally turned that into a rant, but my other classmates over heard and a new weight was brought to this part of the exam. We dispersed and started to prepare for the test, and I zoned out, since too much was happening all at once. Kaminari ad Mineta were screaming at Midoriya about something, Uraraka looked jealous and confused, the Shiketsu kids came over and started talking to us, but something snapped me back.
As they were leaving, Shoto followed the Inasa kid. I listened in to their conversation, confuse and intrigued. "Hey. You with the collar. Did I offend you somehow?" Shoto asked, sounding confused and had a concerned expression. "Oh, no, I'm sorry. Did I hurt your feelings? Well, the thing is, son of Endeavor... I just can't help but hate both of you. You've changed a bit since the first time our paths crossed. But you definitely still have your father's eyes." Inasa responded, and I became furious, feathers turning into serrated knives on my back. Todoroki looked taken aback, and when the hairy kid called for Inasa, he left saying everything was fine. I stood up, trying to decide whether I wanted to talk to Shoto or go after Inasa. My eyelid twitched in anger, and I walked over to Shoto. "He's wrong, you know. You're nothing like your father. You're kind and care about the people around you. Prove him wrong." I said in a stern voice, trying to contain my anger. No matter the status of Shoto and I's relationship, or whatever, I'm not just going to let stuff like that happen. Shoto opened his mouth to reply, but a bell rang and Mera began speaking again. "Villains have preformed a large-scale terrorist attack spanning all of Insert City Name Here. Since most buildings collapsed, there are many injured." "Guess that's the background story. Which means... we're starting." Tsu said, and again the walls unfolded to begin the second half of the test.
