~1 day later~
(Y/n's P.O.V)
I'd spent a whole day meticulously planning my new room, and I had reread the form, about the size of the room and what was or wasn't allowed. I normally wouldn't care this much, but if it was something I could do to keep busy, I'd do it. The first thing I did was I made a list of things I needed and things I already had. I was allowed to go out now, but only with the company of someone else. I thought for a while, then checked my phone for the first time since I'd talked with my brother.
S: (Y/n), how are you? I was worried after they rescued you and that Bakugo kid
S: (Y/n)? Are you ok?
S: I was wondering if you wanted to hang out before school started again. We haven't talked in a while.
S: Is this about the fight we had at the Sports Festival?
I sighed and replied to Shinso's texts.
Y: Hey, Shinso. I'm alright. No, I'm not still mad about that. Haven't been on my phone in a while. I didn't talk to you because I didn't know what to say, sorry. And I would like to spend some time together. I know it's sudden, but are you free today?
I set down my phone not expecting a response, but suddenly my phone buzzed.
S: Yeah, I'm free. I'm glad you're ok.
Y: Thanks. I'm not allowed to go out alone yet, and I need to do some shopping for the dorms. That alright with you?
S: Yeah. Maybe you could help me find some stuff for my room? Send me your address and I'll be there within the hour.
Y: Sure, see you soon!
I sent him my address then took a quick shower. I did my best to dry my hair and wings, then grabbed an outfit from my closet. I pulled out an oversize black long sleeve shirt and some jeans. I knew long sleeves in summer was stupid, but I'd carved up my arm a few more times, and didn't feel like showing off the bandages.
(I have this shirt, it's great. Freaks my friends out a bit, and that's the best part. It's by an artist named Alex Grey, and my family visited the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors and got it for me along with a cool wooden carved sketchbook.)
My hair at this point is just past my shoulders, cause I decided to grow it out. I swept it over my eye, grabbed my wallet and my list, then sat by the front door and put my combat boots on. After a little while, there was a knock at the door. I peered through the peephole to check it was Shinso, the yelled "Hey, Mom! I'm headed out to get some stuff for dorms with a friend. I don't know when I'll get back, probably sometime later in the afternoon." "Ok! Try not to get kidnapped. Again. Two girls is no match for some of the creepers out there." "Um- How about a girl and boy hero in training, one of which and brainwash people?" "Wait, is it that Shinso kid from the Sports Festival? I don't like him, he's kinda creepy." "Well, he's my best friend so tough luck. Bye, Mom!" I finished, then opened the door. "Hey (Y/n)." He said, looking down at me. "Shinso! It's so good to see you." I said, then gingerly opened my arms towards him. I was genuinely relieved and happy to see him. He never really expected anything from me, I felt. We were both messed up weirdos and that's ok. He looked a little taken aback, but then excepted and leaned forward so I could hug him. I squeezed him really tight and he coughed, then I let him go. "Please don't crush me." He laughed. "MMmm... no." I joked back, then closed the door behind me and we walked towards town. We got to a shopping center, and I looked around, not sure where to start. We stood there and eventually Shinso leaned over and asked "Overwhelmed?" I nodded and he sighed. "What's on your list?" "Um... I need... Some storage boxes, some curtains, a carpet, some of that cool wallpaper that's like a sticker? The kind you can take off real easily without messing up the walls? And I wanted to get some plants. And if I can find some of those cute string lights. that'd be good." "String lights? I didn't know you were one of those trendy girly-girls." He teased. "HEY. They are not that kind." I protested, then pulled up a picture I had on my phone.
