(Y/n's P.O.V)
Time for the entrance exam. I am going to U.A. to become a better hero then my trash brother ever will be. After the introduction, and a few interruptions from the two nerds in the middle of the auditorium, we headed over to the testing areas. I saw some kid on his own in the crowd, kind of like I was too. It's amazing how lonely one can feel when surrounded by people. I watched the kid. He had purple, messy hair, pale skin, and sunken eyes that looked as though he hadn't slept in weeks. And so it began. I shot up to the highest building, and took the stance of the hero Erasurehead, when watching for criminals, perfectly balanced on the edge in a crouching position. I studied the ground, then closed my eyes, focused, and felt the rush of hundreds of feathers slicing through the air around me. I opened my eyes slightly, and sent each feather into the crevices of each bot, and cut the power. I continued on every bot I could see that wasn't destroyed. Such messy fighters. What's that messy purple hair kid doing? I watched as he spoke to someone, and suddenly their face went blank, and they destroyed one bot after another, announcing that each point belonged to "Shinso" who I assume is purple hair. What a horrifying quirk. But intriguing.
After the test, I went home to see my brother in the kitchen. "Hey Hawks, how was your day?" No response. It's been this way since he left for hero school. We'd been as close as siblings could be.
~Flashback~
(No one's P.O.V)
"I got into U.A!" Hawks screamed in delight. He had just been accepted into the most prestigious hero school in the world. "Really, big brother?" his sister (Y/n) asked, her eyes wide with excitement. He picked up his 10 year old little sister and swung her around. These were the good times, when the two Takami siblings were inseparable.
"You'll come back and play with me sometimes though, right?" she asked, suddenly very serious and concerned.
"Of course, (Y/n)! You're my little sister, of course I'll come back. We'll always be the best of friends, no matter what happens," he reassured her, "I'd never leave you." and opened his wings and wrapped them around her. He tickled her nose with one of his feathers as she sneezed and started laughing. She snapped open her falcon-like wings and tried to lift off from the ground to get away, but immediately fell into her brother's arms. He set her down, and she looked up at him "Some day, when you're a hero, I'll be just like you." she smiled.
~Present~
What a load of bullshit that turned out to be. I punched my wall, where a dent from previous times had formed. I bandaged my hand, then changed into my casual clothes. "(Y/n), dinner!" I hear my father yell. I hear steps coming down the hall towards my room, and I quickly put on one of my favorite songs as loud as I could, and on repeat, then I slipped out of my window. I stood, on the edge, turned, facing my window, leaned back and dropped. I free fell for a short amount of time, then twisted around to glide over trees in a park. I reached my hand down to collect some sakura blossoms, then shredded them, throwing the petals behind me like confetti. I pulled my earbuds out of my pocket, and played a song.
After a short amount of time I spotted a mochi ice cream cart. I folded my wings, and dropped, shooting down from the sky like a missile. I snapped my wings open, slowing myself, then landing round the corner, and walked over to the stand. I got some matcha mochi, payed, then walked for a short amount of time, then flew home.
When I walked through the door, I was greeted by Hawks looming over me. I shoved him out of the way and headed towards my room to turn off the music. I felt his tight grasp latch onto my arm. "Hey, let me go." "You can't just leave whenever you want to." "Isn't that what you do, Mr. Pro Hero?" "What the hell, when did you become such a brat?" "I don't know, maybe when my idol left to play hero and our parents forgot they had a second child because the first was 'so amazing'. Besides, who are you to talk. You never talk to me, except if you want to remind me about how amazing you are and how useless I am." I shook my arm away, and slipped into my room. I tapped my speaker, shutting off the music. I sighed, and fully-clothed I flopped down onto my bed. I stared at my ceiling, sifting through my mind for anything I cared about enough to keep me awake. I slowly drifted into a dreamless sleep, just as empty as how I feel from day to day.
I got the acceptance letter to U.A., and I felt more excitement then I had in years. I smiled, and it wasn't forced. I set it down on my desk, then slipped out of the window again for another outing, this time to pick up my uniform and on the way back I stopped into a standing soba bar. I picked up some warm soba, and saw a boy with white and red hair standing at the counter eating cold soba. I noticed that he had a large scar over one eye. He must've noticed my absent minded staring, because he looked back at me with a stoic, but confused expression. I just gave him a small smile, and lightly brushed my hair out of the way. I always have my hair parted to cover my right eye. The incident with Bakugou had left with me with a burn mark covering my eye, and slightly discoloring the iris from it's usual golden yellow to a light, pastel yellow color. He looked taken aback, then gave the smallest hint of a smile. I gave him a small wave, then whisked myself out of the door.
Little did I know that this boy would change my life.
