(Y/n's P.O.V)

Kyoka, Momo, and I had just stepped out of the art supplies store with the paint when an announcement came over the P.A. system of the Mall. "Everyone please evacuate the mall at this time. Everyone please evacuate the mall at this time." All our phones went off, and it was a message from Uraraka telling us all to meet downstairs. I took Karasu back from Kyoko, then we walked down, and I remained silent, thinking about Shigaraki. He sounded so... serious, and intentional about the hope to see you soon thing. "(Y/n), you've been quiet. Do you know what's going on?" Momo asked. I sighed then said "Yeah. Midoriya and I both had a run in with the leader of the League of Villains earlier today. The police are probably evacuating this place so they can search." I explained. "Wait what?!" Kyoka said, shocked. "Yeah, that's why I've been so quiet and we it took so long to get the teas." I added. We ran up to the rest of the group, and sorted ourselves out. "(Y/n), they want you to come over here." Uraraka said, beckoning me towards a police officer. I began  telling him what happened the best I could, and I heard confused, scared, and angry chatter from my classmates behind me.

Midoriya and I ended up being taken into the police department to answer some questions. Midoriya and I were separated and questioned. I didn't have much of a discussion with Shigaraki like Midoriya did, but since I had an interaction with him I had to be questioned. I gave them all the information I had, and they seemed surprised with how I handled it. Why is everyone always surprised, it seems so obvious to me. I was let out shortly after Midoriya, and stepped out of the door to see a frail, skeleton of a man talking to the police officer. I didn't think much of him, but Karasu was suspicious of him. The police chief turned to us and said "Think we've go everything we need, so you're good. We're all done here." "Izuku?" a woman's voice sounded at the front of the alley. We both turned, and a woman with green hair stumbled forward. "Mom?" he asked. "Izuku! My baby! I can't do this anymore. I don't think my heart can handle another scare." She said, starting to cry. "I'm sorry. Everything's fine. I'm okay mom. There's no need to cry. The heroes and the police have been taking good care of me all night." He said, gently. I took a step back and rubbed my arm in discomfort. I looked down at my feet and tried to disappear in the shadows, even though it wouldn't work.

"You alright?" the skeletal man asked, and he did seem familiar. I don't like telling people I know this kinda stuff unless they're super close, but I figured I'd never see this man again, and he was trying to be nice so why not. "No, not really. It's kinda hard for me to watch stuff like this." "And why is that?" he asked. "My mom doesn't really care. She doesn't ask where I'm going, she doesn't ask how I am or check in on me. All I ever hear from her is how much I've screwed up, how great my brother is, or how I've 'ruined my chance at marriage or ever being loved' because of this scar I got protecting him." I said, brushing my hair out of my eye. I stopped and realized that Midoriya and his mom had been listening too, and got nervous. I saw a guilty look on Midoriya's face, and knew why. "Don't make that face, Midoriya. You know it's not your fault." I told him, and his expression changed a little. "Sansa, make sure they all get home safe." the chief said to a man with a cat head. "Sir." He replied, with a salute. We all piled into the back of a police car, and sat in silence for a while, then Midoriya's mom said "Thank you for protecting my son. When did it happen?" "It happened in Junior high. Bakugo was giving him a tough time, and threw his hero notes out the window. I was still at school at the time, so I thought I'd do something about it. Your son was pretty much the only bearable person in class. We didn't talk much, but I still wanted to protect him. He was the closest thing I had to a friend there." I recalled, smiling. "I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm glad you thought that of him. I heard what you said about your mother. I'm sorry about that too." she replied. "No need to apologize. I can understand it sometimes. I have a lot to live up to." "I heard you mention your brother. Is he a hero?" she asked. "Yeah. He's Hawks." I said, and she seemed stunned for a moment. "You're Hawks's younger sister? Wow." She said, slight amazement in her voice. I laughed, then looked at my hands in my lap. "They're not always the nicest, but they're what I got." I said, before stepping out of the car when it pulled up in front of my house. "Bye, (Y/n)." Midoriya waved, and his mom leaned over him and said "Goodbye. Have a nice night. Thanks again for looking after my Izuku!" "Thank you, Mrs. Midoriya. Goodbye." I waved and walked into the house. I set Karasu down on the side table and fetched her some fruit, then fell asleep in my jeans and shirt.

"Sooo, Izuku. What do you think of that (Y/n) girl?" my mom asked mischievously when we arrived home. "Mom, it's not like that!" I said, panicking. "You called her by her first name, and she seems to think highly of you, so you must be close." He mom pushed. "No! She has everyone call her that! I'm surprised she said that thing about friends too, I honestly get scared of her sometimes." I said, shuddering a little. "Oh. She didn't seem that scary. Sure, the raven on her shoulder was a bit weird, but she seemed nice." My mom said. "Tonight was actually one of the only times I've seen her like that. She usually is pretty rude and cold towards everyone. She kinda likes to pick fights with Bakugo, and anyone else. Watching her fight is sometimes downright terrifying." I explained. "What happens?" "Well, the first fight at UA she had was pretty scary, especially for her opponents. She stalked them from above, then swooped down, and taped one of them to the ceiling. For the second one she hid in a dark corner, and as soon as the person passed her, she reached out, pulled them close, then sent them flying down the hall, and pinned them down with their partner's capture tape. Even All Might said it creeped him out, cause she doesn't seem to realize why it's bad or how it's too much. And she doesn't seem to care about getting hurt either. When she was helping me with Bakugo, he pushed her out the window, and when I found her, she had broken one of her wings and was beat up pretty badly, but she just walked away. And at USJ, Ojiro said she sealed up her own wound with a red hot metal rod. During the exams this week, the completely busted up her hands, until you could see bone, and she acted like it was fine." I said, realizing how absolutely terrifying some of it was. "Oh goodness. That does seem kinda scary after that. I can't imagine being totally fine with all those injuries. I think it hurts a lot when I get a cut or burn, I don't even want to think about how those must feel. It almost sound as if she's given up." my mom said, her tone concerned. "What?" I asked, confused. "Well, from what she said earlier, she has a lot to live up too, and not a lot of support to do it. So she's given up on what people want from her. She does what she wants, what she feels is right, and what her mind thinks. She's probably felt enough emotional pain that physical pain doesn't bother her too much." My mom sympathized, and as I thought about it I realized it too. "She's mean and intimidating because that's how she can keep herself safe. And how she feels she can keep others safe too." I said, understanding. "Yeah." My mom said, setting a snack down in front of me at the table. "Thanks mom. Besides, even if I did like her, she has a boyfriend. They've both become less indifferent to others since, which is nice to see." I said, thinking about how Todoroki and how he'd become more friendly and protective since he and (Y/n) started hanging out together. "Oh. Is he someone in your class?" she asked. "Yeah, it's Todoroki. The one who I told you about with the fire and ice quirk that he wouldn't use because of what happened with his dad, Endeavor." "Oh, him. Well, from what you've told me about the two of them, it sounds like they'll be good for each other. Sometimes you just need someone who has been through things like you have, so you can have someone to understand and help you grow." My mom explained, and sat down with some food too. "Yeah." I said, then started to eat.
