~Next day~
(Y/n's P.O.V)
"Damn. I need to study." said, frustrated. Momo was organizing a big study group, but I could tell I wasn't invited. "We could study together." Todoroki said, flipping through his textbook. "Sure." "Where should we go?" "One of our houses?" he offered. "Ok. Mine or yours?" I asked, also searching through a book. "We can go to mine." he said. "Great. Can I bring Karasu? I want to spend as much time with her as possible. She's still not doing too well." "Yeah. I wanna see her again. She's cute. Like you." "Shoto!" I yelped, face turning pink. "What?" he said, giving a faint playful smirk. "Pfft-" I wheezed. "I love you more than anything." I thought, almost overwhelmed by the emotion. It was suddenly broken by Momo calling to Shoto "Hey, Shoto! Would you like to join us for the study group?" "No thank you." He said, looking back down at his book. "You sure?" "Mhm." "Well you can always join us if you change your mind!" She said, then turned back to the rest of the group. We went through the rest of the day, and when it was time to go we parted ways. "See you soon." Shoto said. "Yup!" I said, waving back at him as I took off. On the way home I stopped and bought some treats, as I work best when eating sweets. I also grabbed a few different fruits, then went back home to pick up Karasu. I had left her right under my lamp to keep her warm, but when I came back she was on the floor, barely breathing.
"Karasu!" I shrieked, dropping my bag and scooping her up. I held her in my hands until her breath steadied. "Hey... don't scared me like that." I said, peeling kumquat from the bag and breaking it into pieces and feeding them to her. I gently pet her head with two fingers until she fell asleep. I shoved some tissues into my pocket, then carefully set her down into it and closed it. I picked up my bag and headed to Shoto's place. When I got there, Fuyumi answered the door. "Hello, Takami. What are you doing here? I don't see your brother, and father said nothing about another business dinner. "No. Shoto invited me here to study with him for the test we have coming up." I explained. "Oh, ok. Here, come inside. Leave your shoes at the door, please. I'll show you where Shoto's room is." Fuyumi said. I followed her in and took off my shoes, gently placing them besides Shoto's. I followed Fuyumi, and she stopped and knocked on a door. "Shoto, Miss Takami is here." "You can call me (Y/n), if you'd like." I offered. "Oh. Okay, if that's what you prefer." She gave me a nervous smile, then hurried off when Shoto opened his door. "Hey." he said. "Long time, no see." I joked, setting down the bag of treats and fruit.
I gently opened my pocket and took out Karasu. "Karasu can sleep on the desk if she likes." Shoto said, then pointed to a tiny nest of tissue on his desk. I smiled at this, thinking the fact he made it ahead of time was adorable. I set Karasu on the desk, then looked back at Shoto. We stared into each other's eyes for some time. then he snapped out of it, face red. He dropped down to his knees, then started pulling out textbooks and worksheets. I sat down by him and we leaned back against his wall. "What's in the bag?" He asked, once we were all settled. "Oh. I brought some fruit for Karasu and some sweets. I like to eat when I study." I explained. "Oh." He said, then we started to read. I filled out pages of notes and flashcards, and looked over worksheets while he peacefully read his book. I pulled out my treats from the bag. First thing was was a small pouch of konpeito. I took a few pieces, then held it out to Shoto.
"Huh?" "Do you want some?" I asked. He looked at it for a second, then took a few pieces, put them in his mouth, then sighed. "Hm?" I questioned. "My mom used to sneak me Konpeito when I was a kid to cheer me up after training sessions with my dad. I haven't had them since." he explained. "Oh. Whenever my brother would get a pouch from a friend, or buy some, he'd always give me half." I recalled, then gave a annoyed laugh at the end. "But he's not that person anymore." I said, looking down at my work, and continuing. After a while my hand got sore and I decided to take a break. I opened the box of pocky and put one in my mouth. I turned to Shoto and held up the box to offer him one, but he just looked at it blankly for few seconds. Then he looked at me, leaned forward, and bit the end of mine. Our noses were touching, and I giggled, because he looked funny from this angle and I was surprised. He turned his head slightly, then moved forward, resulting in a kiss. "Hmph?!" I gasped in surprise, his lips on mine. I bit down on my piece of the pocky, then closed my eyes and leaned into the kiss. After a few seconds we both pulled away, faces red. He put his hand over his mouth and looked the other way, and I looked down at my lap.
It was silent for a few moments, then a tiny, angry "CAW!" sounded from the desk. A very judgmental Karasu was staring down at us, then stomped her foot, demanding food. I giggled, and Shoto gave a nervous chuckle. "I think she wants food. You wanna feed her?" I asked. "Oh, sure." He said, and he stood up. He reached his hand back and pulled me up too. Shoto held out his hands to Karasu, and she looked up at him. She immediately recognized him, gave him a happy "AWK!" and hopped into his hands. "Oh, so you'll scare me, but be a perfect little angel for him." I laughed. We went back down to the floor and set Karasu down between us. Todoroki reached into the bag and took out a kiwi. "I'll be right back, let me cut this." He said, and was back a minute later. He set down the plate on the ground, and Karasu hopped over and started pecking at it. (Felt the need to add the video below cause I love the sound baby crows make when they eat, it's hilarious.)
After a while, Karasu ate until she fell asleep, surrounded by orange peels and kiwi seeds. I kept working, but got tired.
(Shoto's P.O.V)
I got tired of reading and I remember thinking "I'm tired.". I blinked a few times and yawned, then checked my phone. An hour and a half had passed since Karasu fell asleep. I noticed I got a text from Fuyumi. I opened it to see a picture of (Y/n), Karasu and I all asleep in the mess of papers, fruit peels, and candy. She had sent a heart emoji under it. I sighed, put down my phone, then turned to (Y/n), who was leaning against my shoulder, fast asleep. I looked at my phone again, then back at her. I let out another sigh, then set a timer for another half hour, and fell back asleep, feeling happy and calm.
I imagine this is what Karasu looks like right now, but a bit cleaner. I know that doesn't make the bird look any less weird. Birds grow extremely fast and basically have their own awkward puberty teenager stage like humans. Just for them it only lasts a few days. Lucky bastards.
