Pain (Chapter 59)

Mikey's P.O.V:

I looked around the room that Tiger Claw assigned to me. This is ten times smaller than my room at home. There was only a bed and a dresser next to it. The walls are made out of rocks but the floor is wooden. Everything in this place is so grey and lifeless. I mean, who can look alive in this hell?

I walk out of that mouse cave to meet the others in the hallway. They are all sitting against the wall, with their heads down. I sit next to Casey who looks like he just saw a ghost. Then his gaze changed out of nowhere. Now it was full of hatred and frustration. He looked so upset that he threw both fists against the floor leaving a crack on the wood.
Casey: why?! No, how did this happened?
We stayed quiet. Tears ran down his face and made my eyes watery.
Casey: I thought the good guys always won. Now look at us... in the enemies layer, being held hostage, and with the thought that any of us could die at any given moment-
Leonardo: that's enough Casey! Yes it's true that the good guys should always win but nobody ever said it would be us
My eyes went wide at his statement. Is he implying we're done for?
Mikey: no, it should be us because we've put our hearts and souls into saving New York City since day one! We can't give up now
Raphael: just let it go Mikey. I know it hurts but the truth is the truth... just look around you and not only at the location, look at us. Look at the girls, they're having it worst than us with everything that's been going on with their real parents
Mikey: yeah but I'm still not going to give up. We shouldn't! We can't let them take the pleasure of capturing us... we have to win
I look at each of their faces. None of them seemed to care.
Mikey: Donatello you're with me, right?
Donatello: you know I hate to give up just as much as you do Mikey, but Raph is right. Look where we are and look at us. We're injured, we're weak, and this is enemy territory. I'm sorry but our chances of actually getting out of here and winning are less than zero percent
Mikey: and when has a percentage stopped us?! Are you guys serious right now?
Leonardo: Mikey if you keep ranting on about this I will-
Mikey: you will do nothing because that's exactly what you're doing right now
Leonardo: then so be it. I'm done fighting, we can't win
Mikey: with or without each other we are still the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the heroes of New York. And as a member of this team, I refuse to ever give up!
Raph got up from the floor and walked past me, tapping my shoulder.
Raphael: well then good for you buddy but it's over for me
And with that he went into his room. The others did the same thing. I sigh at the heavy air that the others left behind. I walk to the end of the hallway and sit on a step of the staircase that goes down to the first floor. I let my arms rest on my legs as my head hung.

*Flashback*

Splinter: today is the first day you're allowed to go to the surface
I choke on a worm at his words.
Mikey: really master Splinter? Are you seriously going to let us go outside? You're not kidding?
Splinter: no young Michelangelo, I'm serious as one can be. Now get ready for when the sun goes down
Mikey: woohoo!
I throw my plate of worms in the air of  excitement.... and it landed on Raph's head!
Raphael: MIKEY...
Mikey: ah I'm sorry Raph I didn't mean to! You know I love you- aaaaah!
Before I knew it, I am now running for my life with an angry Raph tailing me.

Raph: master Splinter why does he get to be leader?!
Splinter: Raphael I will not discuss this with any of you again. Leonardo is the most responsible one and he won the match against all of you
Raph growled while crossing his arms. Since I am sitting next to him, I could see a vein popping out of his forehead.
Leonardo: don't be mad maybe next time you'll get to be leader
Raphael: THERE'S NOT GOING TO BE A NEXT TIME YOU IDIOT!
Leonardo: DON'T CALL ME AN IDIOT AND DO NOT RAISE YOUR VOICE AT YOUR LEADER!
Donatello: oh boy, here we go again
They kept screaming at each other when dad suddenly got up and pinched the sides of both of their necks. Their face twisted in a funny and painful gesture and stayed still.
