Last Time Ever I Saw Your Face

The last time ever I saw your face.
Stars fizzled out on the horizon,
As the moon pirouetted into space.
The sun splashed down in the ocean
My world ripped out of place.
The last time ever I heard your voice.
You said that everything would be okay.
You'd stay if you really had a choice
As you tried to caress my pain away
And expressed your life I should rejoice
The last time ever I held your hand,
I felt my sanity blown apart.
I touched upon your wedding band.
How something so beautiful can break a heart
I'll never fully understand.
The last time, the last time, the last time...
