Wishing There Was Luck

The wishing wells run dry

No comets sweep the sky

No candles on the cake and

My prayers have been forsaken

The blarney stone's scabbed over

Nothing extra on a three leaf clover

There's no one in the lamp

The lucky glove's knocked out the champ

No gold at rainbows end

The leprechaun is not your friend

There's no penny to pick up

And nothing sweet about the loving cup

All the luck, wishes and dreams have been hurled

We've broken everything good in this world
