Once Upon A Time

Once I fell head over heels for you
Now I trip over my feet running away
You say that I can just make do
I can't even make it through the day
Once you said you want to be winning me over
You ended up pinning me down
Promises broken that you'd get sober
In your drink I wish you'd drown
Once you said you wanted to capture my heart
You ended up holding it captive
You tick off each day we're together on your chart
As a prisoner I mark the wall each day I live
Once you said you would love me forever
Now I only live for today
All that you can say is 'whatever'
I don't care anymore what game you play
Once upon a time
There was lots of love and laughter
Now I'm just a mime
Where's the happily ever after?
