The library was peaceful as usual, which was such a different enviornment from the one Hermione, Harry, and Ron had just come from. Hermione's favorite place in the whole castle was the library. She loved the feeling of being surrounded by books, surrounded by knowledge. It was a welcoming place to come to when she didn't know where else to go .

Harry and Ron chose a table in the corner while Hermione took her time eyeing down any books she hasn't seen before that interested her. After lingering there for a moment, she made her way to the table and got her books out.

From the corner of her eye, she saw a hint of blond hair. She turned to see Draco staring right back at her. When he noticed that Hermione had seen him, he averted his stare and looked down at his parchment as if nothing had happened.

Then, Hermione remembered that she was his tutor. Draco Malfoy's tutor. And that she ran off from him. Why was he still here? Surely he had better things to do then sit in a library for the close to an hour that Hermione left. Maybe he was trying to study himself.

Hermione suddenly felt a wave a guilt wash over her. She made a commitment to tutor Draco, and a painful as that commitment was, she had to fulfill it. Even if that commitment was for somebody as foul as Draco.

She lamely excused herself from Harry and Ron who hardly noticed; they were frustated over a History of Magic problem in their assignment which made Hermoine oddly gleeful; she always told them to pay attention.

As she walked over past a wooden bookshelf, she could Draco tapping faster on the floor with his feet. She suspected he was trying to pretend he was oblivious to her, but Hermione knew better.

"Hey," Hermione quietly said. She wasn't sure how to greet him. They definatley weren't friends, but she wasn't quite sure if acquaintances was the right term either.

Silence. Hermione knew Draco was pretending to write so hard with his quill that he couldn't hear the surroundings. Please, Hermione thought, even his acting was poor.

Irratated, Hermione took his opened book and slammed it shut. Hard. That should get his attention.

Draco, temporarily alarmed, looked at her, eyes widened. They both heard Madam Pince mutter something that sounded like "Fourth-years.."

"What in Merlin's name was that for?!" Malfoy demanded as Hermone took a seat across the table.

She looked up at her as if nothing had just happened. Hermione needed to remain professional; that was why, of course, Professor McGonagall chose her for the task. "I'm sorry about the misunderstanding that occurred in the middle our study session. You should know that from now on nothing of the sort will happen again," she looked up at him and took his silence as a confirmation, "Now, let's get down to business."

Malfoy just looked at her, dumbfounded, and took out his books. After a couple moments of him gathering his supplies, Hermione heard him mutter, "She really is something."

Without realizing it, Hermione beamed at him. Let it be for the reason that Krum asked her out previously today, Malfoy actually listened to her command, or that he didn't call her a Mudblood in the process, Hermione felt a bizarre sense of accomplishment.

Today is a good day.
