After hours and hours of Gryffindor girls, of all years, working gruellingly, the time had reached where all they would have to come out of their workshop and enter the dance.

Hermione finally finished. She looked into the mirror she was sharing with Ginny Weasley and smiled at her hard work. After numerous attempts at different hair charms, she finally got it to agree with her.

Hermione's hair looked absolutely different yet beautiful. It was wrapped carefully into a braided knot, and the ends were down. It looked great with her face shape and neck-line of the dress she was wearing. She had used a spell to paint her nails a gorgeous, pale pink, that matched the ribbon in her dress. And, what really made Hermione happily shocked, was the result of her makeup.

Makeup always fascinated her. It was like you could change yourself into a different person, be a different person. Hermione looked different, yet it was still her. The makeup wasn't heavy, but it wasn't too light where it barely made it difference, because her makeup definately made a difference.

Hermione wasn't sure what makeup charm to cast at first, so she heard what the others were doing and tried it out. It worked immediatley, and at first Hermione wasn't sure whether or not she should remove it or not. The charm worked differently on different people, so she didn't look like a copy of anyone else.

Her charm applied some nude colored liquid all over her face that made her skin glow. Lavender told it that was called foundation, which Hermione had heard of a couple times before just forgot the name. Then, there was more color to her cheeks than normal. But, it wasn't like the color Hermione had on her cheeks when she went outside on in the snow; a shimmering, pink, orange that was a perfect color was brushed on her cheek bones that made them look better. Hermione liked it.

And for her eyes, a layer of pigmented, cream eyeshadow on her lids, and a soft brown blended in her crease that made her eyes look deeper and bigger. White eyeshadow was on her inner corners and below her brow for highlighting. Hermione admired how the charm created perfect black lines right above her lashlines that made her eyes pop. She never realized how much attention an eye could get just by adding black.

Hermione's lashes were more curled than usual, and filled in with black mascara.

She took one last look in the mirror and couldn't wait to see the look on everybody's faces. All the girls were walking around the room, practicing their walk in their too high heels. Hermione chose the perfect height for heels, two inches. They were a little short, yet, but she would rather be safe than sorry.

"Hermione! You look gorgeous!" Lavender gushed at her, stomping over in her five inches.

Hermione blushed and grinned. "Thanks, Lavender. You look amazing, too!"

Lavender was wearing a strapless dress with a sweethear neckline that showed off her boobs. Everybody knew she was wearing a push-up. The mint dress hugged her body all the way down to her mid thighs.

"I know!" Lavender exclaimed and stomped away, grabbing her bracelet while Hermione was mentally laughing at how much Lavender's feet were going to hurt after the first dance.

Ginny walked towards Hermione, looking cute as always. "Wow, Hermione. You look great!"

"As do you, Ginny!" Hermione beamed at her, and linked arms with her, "Shall we?"

Ginny giggled and linked her arm in, "We shall!"

The girls walked out first as the other girls scrambled to fix tiny details last minute and hurried out after Hermione and Ginny.

Even the walk out of the dormitory was something. All the boys were waiting in the Common Room, talking about the dance, when the first pair of girls came down. All heads turned towards them and Hermione looked towards the floor and blushed. She swore she imagined it, but she felt Ginny tug her arm as if to say, "Don't be shy! Head up!"

Hermione spied Harry and Ron in the corner, both looking at her wide-eyed like they were seeing a brand new person. Maybe tonight I will be a brand new person, Hermione thought.

Suddenly, she looked up and smiled. Ginny let go of her arm and started talking to Neville, her date. All the other girls were giggling nervously and excitedly as they went to talk to the boys and other groups of their friends.

Hermione approached Harry and Ron.

"I'm sorry, is that you Hermione>" Harry jokingly teased as Hermione playfully punched him in the arm.

"Must say, Hermione, you clean up really nice.." Ron stared at her and looked shocked.

Hermione looked down and then up again. She blushed. "Thanks, Ron, as do yo-"

Ron's robes looked like they were from the 18th century. Hermione held in her laugh by playing it off with a cough. It was too late, though, as Ron's cheeks blushed uncontrollably.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's go and get this stupid thing over with already," Ron snapped and started walking with the others towards the Great Hall. Harry and Hermione looked at each other and started laughing . It was safe now to laugh at Ron when he was gone.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be laughing," Hermione said.

"He has one wild temper," Harry remarked and then turned back towards her.

"You look really great, Hermione. I hope you have a great time tonight with Krum. Maybe we'll see each other on the dance floor?"

Hermione beamed and gave him a hug, which took Harry by surprise, but, of course, he hugged her back. "Thanks, Harry! And, of course!"

With that, Harry and Hermione walked towards the Great Hall, ready to tackle the Yule Ball. A night of memories was ahead of them, and Hermione suddenly felt like the new person she was thinking about being not too long ago. She was confident, now. After seeing her friends reactions, she was going to make the most of this night and have a blast. Hermione grinned as she thought about what laid ahead of her.

Tonight was going to be a night to remember.
