Hermione's eye lids fluttered opened and she was aware that she was laying under a thin layer of white cloth. Taking in the room in front of her, she realized she was in the hospital wing.

Memories of what had happened earlier came flashing back like a brick hitting her in the head. She couldn't believe that her friends had actually talked her into playing that game! But it was even harder to believe that for a short period of time in that game, Hermione actually was a decent player.

"She's awake!" Hermione heard Harry's voice from her left and turned her neck slowly to see his green eyes watching her attentively.

Ron put down the paper he was reading and rushed over anxiously. "Hermione!"

"Hi," Hermione croaked out, wondering how long she had been out.

"It's been only three and a half hours," Harry said, answering her thoughts. "We thought it was going to be longer from the look of how hard that ball hit you!"

"We're so happy you're okay, Hermione!" Ron said, appeasably.

"Thanks guys," Hermione said, feeling slightly guilty that they stayed here for almost four hours. What great friends she had.

"Did you win the game?" Hermione asked weakly.

Ron and Harry looked baffled for a moment, but quickly remembered what this whole thing was about.

"Oh, well the game ended after the incident, but it doesn't matter! We're going to have a rematch next week," Harry said and Hermione had a want to pretend that today never happened.

"What about Zack? What is he doing?" Hermione asked, sitting up in her bed.

"He's, er, talking to someone right now. He'll be up soon though!" Ron replied and rubbed his arm awkwardly.

"Oh," Hermione said. She wondered why he wasn't here right now. Of course, how would he know when she was going to wake up? Hermione told herself that he was probably here for a while and then left a little. He'll be here soon. Maybe even Draco would visit her. Wait, no. He's the one who wanted her to get hit the ball- the last thing Malfoy would ever do, is check up on her.

Ginny Weasley came inside the door and hugged Hermione.

"I'm so glad you're going to be okay!" Ginny exclaimed and Hermione thanked her.

"Harry, Ron, it's time for dinner. Hermione, if you can come and join us, that would be great!" The redheaded girl announced and Harry and Ron did look pretty hungry, no matter how hard they tried to stay determined to be with Hermione.

"Oh," Hermione tried to move her legs, but a surge of pain rushed through them. "Thanks, but you guys go on and I'll see you later!"

Harry and Ron looked back at her, as if waiting for her to call them back. They deserved to get out of this tiny room.

"Go on," Hermione encouraged and gave them a smile.

The boys and Ginny smiled back at her and walked towards the Great Hall for a tasty dinner.

The room was silent when they left and Hermione exhaled. She slowly reached for her book on the night stand and began to read.

"Oh God, that men should put an enemy in their mouths to steal away their brains," Hermione read in her head.

Knock-knock. Before Hermione could call out or put her book away, a figure came into the room and Hermione sat up straighter, moving the blanket up as if to protect her.
