Ash slowly closed the door of his house, waiting a few seconds before confirming his mother was not awake and proceeding to make his way to Gary's.

He and Gary had been dating for years. Professor Oak was very approving of their relationship. Delia, however, was not very open minded and tended to despise transgenders. Oh, did I mention Gary was transgender? Well, I guess you know now. 

So, Ash, Gary and the Professor always worked together to keep the secret from Ash's mother, which was hard, considering how nosy she was.

"Gary?", Ash called out while knocking on the door.

A young woman by the age of 18 with brown hair opened the door, letting the wind from outside dance with her white dress.

"Ash!", Gary welcomed as she pulled the boy into a hug.

"I snuck out. Mom's been asleep for hours"

"Hehe, so has the Professor. What do you say we...", Gary proposed, leaning closer to the younger one, who pushed her back with his finger.

"...watch a movie? Great idea!", he replied sarcastically, laughing as Gary's head dropped down.

-Hours later-

Ash had fallen asleep in Gary's arms. The woman was about to let herself fall asleep until she heard a knock on the door. Gently placing Ash down on the sofa, she went to answer the door.

"Hello, how can I help y-"

"Where's my son?"

Gary looked up to see a tall woman with hair lighter than hers and the eyes of her lover.

"Pardon me?"

"My son, freak. He hasn't been home for hours. I know he's with you"

Gary looked behind at the sleeping boy. She couldn't let his crazy mother enter her house, or all hell would break loose.

"Ash isn't with me"

"Yes he is"

"I said he-"

"Then why are you blocking the doorway? Who's sleeping on the couch?"

Gary paused for a second.

"My house is my property and I let who I want in here. Besides, grandpa was watching TV on the couch and he fell asleep there"

Gary thought she had Delia beat, until she saw the maniac pull a knife out of her pocket. She stepped back in fear as the woman cornered her with the knife.

"You little freak! I'm gonna kill y-"

Before she could finish her sentence, the knife was knocked out of her hands and into the hands of her very own son. He stood in front of Gary protectively, shooting death glares at his mother.

"H-how dare you! My own son! First, disobeying me, and now, dating a transgender!"

"So what if I am, mom? Is that your fucking choice?"

The woman growled in anger before stomping to the doorway.

"Don't come back!", she screamed before slamming the door.

Gary sank to her knees, balling her eyes out while Ash comforted her.

"I-I just, she tried to, she had a-"

"Don't worry, Gary. It's going to be alright. You're safe now. And, hey, if it makes you feel any better, I just got kicked out"

Gary held Ash's shoulders, smiling as her tears dried.

"You always know how to make me feel better, Ashy"

"That's because I love you"

"I love you too"

And before morning could come, they both fell asleep under the sunrise.
