Ice-skating

(Half a year later in winter, Christmas)
(Herobrines' FoV)
Nightmare had put both of his hands on my eyes, blindfolding me completely. He led the way through the snowy forest so I had to trust him no matter what.
He suddenly stopped and pulled me closer, still keeping his hands on my face. "Ready?" I took a deep breath and nodded, feeling the cold air on my face as a soft wind blew. Nightmare removed his hands and I carefully opened my eyes.
A medium sized box was standing in front of a rather large lake that was completely frozen. I tugged on my scarf as I thought about the water under the seemingly thick ice. Nightmare smiled. "Are you able to skate?", he asked as he went towards the box, picking it up and giving it to me. "Well, I was once with my dad." I answered and opened the box. A pair of pure white ice-skates with a few golden stripes were in there. I carefully took one and inspected it.
They were definitely completely new, there was no dust or anything on them. The blade on the bottom was made out of Metal, reflecting my surprised expression. The golden stripes were made out of gold leaf, not a single rip in it which was almost impossible to do.
I looked at Nightmare with big eyes. "I-I... Uh... I c-can't take them Nightmare. They had to be extremely expensive!", I stuttered, my eyes stuck on the skates again. Nightmare only chuckled. "No, they weren't. I made them myself."
"That's another reason why I can't take them, Nightmare!"
He rolled his eyes and only whispered: "Just take them. It's your present."
That made my own present for him seem almost worthless. I blushed and sat down, putting the skates on. They fit perfectly. I tried to stand up but almost collapsed since they made me way taller than before. Nightmare caught me and put his arm under mine. He had his own skates on, some black ones with red spots. With a soft chuckle he put me on my feet correctly and smiled. "Just act like your standing on your normal shoes. And then try to walk. You'll get used to the feeling really fast.", he explained and went in the ice, still holding my hand. I was completely nervous as I looked down, seeing the water beneath the ice. My body started to tremble and I grabbed Nightmares' hand tighter. "Hey. It's ok. If the water can hold my weight, it can easily hold yours. Don't be scared. If something bad happens, I'll save you. I promise."
Those words made me calm down a little bit and I tried to let go of Nightmare. I stood there for a few heartbeats, completely unmoving until my body finally got used to the feeling. Then I tried to walk a little bit, but instantly lost my balance. I fell to the ground and landed on my butt, gasping quietly. Nightmare chuckled and made a round around the lake while I watched his movements, concentrating on his positions.
Nightmare came back to me and stopped, blowing a lot of snow into the air. He offered me his hand and I took it. He pulled me up and I took a deep breath. Then I copied his movements almost perfectly. Nightmare gasped as I skates around, remembering the time when I was skating with my dad. With a quiet laughter Nightmare started to follow me, eventually walking right next to me. He took my hand and smiled. "And? How does it feel?", he asked.
"It feels amazing.", I answered. We made a few rounds around the lake until I suddenly let go, skating further away from Nightmare. He started to chase me, laughing. I raced right over to the middle of the lake, looking back to Nightmare. His eyes suddenly widened and he stopped, completely unmoving. Multiple loud cracks broke the silence. I looked down. The ice underneath me was really thin and slowly broke. Every single move broke the ice even more. I looked back up to Nightmare, only to see that he was going to the edge, way further away from me. I took a few shaky breaths and entered Nightmares' mind.
"Don't come over now. I have a plan."
Nightmare looked back at me, then he nodded. "If you say so."
I closed my eyes and concentrated on the edge, right next to where he was standing now. I imagined that my body would fall into a million pieces, than reappear next to him.
I opened my eyes but only saw the same thing I saw before. But this time Nightmare took a deep breath and disappeared into a cloud of black smoke.
That was literally the first time I saw him teleport. I felt his hand touch my shoulder and instantly felt the weird feeling of being teleported away. I fell to my knees as soon as I was on hard ground again. Nightmare took a deep breath and collapsed right next to me, his eyes halfway closed. He was completely pale and his eyes seemed darker than usual. I instantly reacted and pulled him up onto my lap, softly slapping him on the cheek. "Nightmare. Wake up. You can't sleep now. You'll freeze!", I whispered quietly and touched his neck, searching for a pulse. I found it moments later. It was calm but really low.
I took the scarf from my neck and wrapped it around his own, trying to keep him warm. As fast as possible I collected our stuff and went back to him, gently grabbing his hand. I closed my eyes and tried to teleport, but I failed. A little bit confused I tried to clean my thoughts and teleport again, but I also failed this time. So I had to bite into the sour apple and picked him up, pulling his unconscious body behind me.
After almost two hours I finally arrived at our house, that was actually only thirty minutes away from the lake. I was panting like crazy, but I set Nightmare down on the sofa and went back to the lake, grabbing our stuff that I just put into a bush as I started to pull him after me. Only ten minutes later I was back at the house. I just ran the whole way to it and back, just to not leave him alone for too long.
Well at least I didn't run in ice-skates.
I put our stuff on the table and got undressed. I put the jacket in the wall and started to undress Nighty as well. But as soon as I got the jacket and the scarf off I noticed a deep wound on his chest, definitely burned into his skin. I gently touched his chest and his face scrunched in pain. But he didn't wake up. "Fuck... I didn't know this happens if you teleport! This is why you never tried to!", I whined, but then took a few deep breaths to calm myself down. I tried to teleport upstairs, but it failed again. So I ran upstairs. I had to help Nightmare now and deal later with that problem of mine. I grabbed the case with the medicine and ran downstairs again. I sat it down next to him and gently stroke over his stomach, noticing that the wound went way further down than I expected. His pullover was bloodsoaked. Without hesitance I pulled the shirt over his head and looked closer at the wound. Something was stuck in there so I grabbed it carefully and pulled it out.
I grabbed a needle and thread and put it on his skin. With a bit of hesitance I pushed the needle into his pale skin and started sewing the wound close.
"Damnit, is there even one chapter where no one gets hurt?", I growled while sewing the wound. Bad for my work was the fact that it was bleeding actively as soon as I touched the wound. So that's a pain in the ass.
The wound was now closed. I bit through the tread and made a knot near his skin, using a scissor to remove the leftover. I put the needle back no the table, leaving a bloody stripe on it. With a little sigh I looked at myself, seeing that I was now bloodsoaked as well. Not that I have anything against it tho. I went upstairs and washed myself, putting the case back to its place on the shelf next to the door.
A few minutes later I came down, dressed in all black. I was carrying a white towel which was wet and a bucket. With that I sat back down next to Nightmare and started removing the blood.
As I was halfway down he finally woke up, looking at me completely confused. "Where am I? What happened?", he mumbled in a hoarse voice. I stopped my work and put the towel into the now bloodred water. "You don't remember?" Nightmare shook his head, helping as he did so. Of course, why wouldn't it? It's a deep wound that probably ripped some muscles apart.
Nightmare was still staring at me. After a few more heartbeats which I used to wash the blood off again I answered: "Well, we were ice-skating. The ice almost broke under my feet so you teleported and brought us both away from the ice. And since you don't usually teleport, your Enderpearl, which is located in your chest, probably exploded, leaving a burned wound."
Nightmare looked up at the ceiling. After a few moments of silence he asked: "Was it fun?" A little smile snuck upon my lips. "It was indeed. Even tho this last part could have been not happening." He chuckled lightly and took a deep breath. "How long will this wound take to heal?"
I shrugged, unsure what to answer. I mean, he heals when he's asleep, but I'm not sure about burn wounds. "I don't know, Nighty... I don't know. I guess this kind of wound would have killed a normal human, yet you aren't. So... I guess about two, three weeks?", I answered a little bit unsure. This wound would have insta-killed me, that's for sure. Fuck them tiny stab wounds! THAT is a fucking wound that would rip the life right out your chest!
Ok I have to calm down.
Nightmare sat up and wanted to stand, but I pushed him back down, throwing the towel into the bucket. "Don't stand up alone. The wound may rip open."
Nightmare nodded and put his arms onto my shoulders, pulling himself up. That's not exactly what I meant, but I guess it works. I helped him gently, holding his body up. He groaned in pain and put most of his weight onto me. I huffed quietly.
He made slow and careful steps to the kitchen, where I sat him down on a chair. Nightmare took a sharp breath, looking at me.
To see him in pain actually made me somewhat sad, so I grabbed a glass and filled it up with water. But before I could do any mistake I hesitated. Then I turned around and asked him carefully: "Uhm... Would you... Can I... Ugh! Would you like some painkillers?" He thought about it for a few moments, definitely unsure. After almost one minute he nodded a little bit. I pulled the drawer open and took the pillbox out behind the knifes, slightly cutting my finger open. I yelped and pulled back, looking at the blood that started to drip down. "Fuck.", I growled and sighed. I didn't really care about it, but it stung a little bit. I with a sigh threw the quarter of the pill into the water and stirred. Then I put it on the table and sat down next to him, but before I could react, he grabbed my hand and sucked the blood from it. I gasped, but kept completely still. I could feel his tongue on my fingertip, gently licking the blood away. It felt weird. My face heated up in a matter of seconds and I looked away. Nightmare chuckled and released my hand, licking the tip once more. He took the glass and emptied it in one shot once again. I put the glass into the sink for him so he wouldn't have to stand up, but only moments later I heard something move behind me. Out of boredom I had started washing the plates and cups from the past few days. As I turned around I noticed that Nightmare was gone. With a quick smile I dried my hands and ran upstairs, into our bedroom and to my closet, pulling out the box from under a cloth. I readjusted the red ribbon on the green present and went outside again. In a couple of seconds I arrived back at the kitchen and put the present on the table, right in front of Nightmares' place. Said man came down only a minute later. Out of surprise he stopped in the door and looked at the present. He went slowly to the present and sat down, staring at it. Them he ripped the wrap open. Inside where two things: A book and a long, black sword.
Nightmare took the book and started to smile. "Thanks." I smiled back, ready to see his reaction. The sword was wrapped in a blanket, so it couldn't hurt or destroy anything. Nightmare stood up and pulled the sword out, looking at me quite surprised. He unwrapped the sword and his eyes widened in pure shock. It was a black sword with multiple red rubies on the blade. The handle was made out of gold, with quartz engraving. But the most important fact about it was the edge: It was even darker than the deepest black.
"A... A Shadowbreaker? How'd you find it?", he stuttered completely in shock, holding the sword in both hands. I grinned. "Let's just say, it's not the first one I made." He settled the sword carefully down, then he hugged me tightly. "Thank you.", he whispered into my ear. A quiet chuckle escaped my throat. "No problem, Nighty. It was fun making it."
He released and looked at me. "Is that why your scythe has some black in the blade?" I tilted my head and looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean?" Nightmare showed me to follow him and we went outside. "Let your scythe appear, Hero.", he said calmly. I did as he said, still a little bit concerned.
The scythe I had was just a long scythe, honestly. Notch gave it to me when I was younger. It was a wooden handle with a white cloth around the middle, right where you'd hold it. The blade was bowed and silver. I looked closer at it. Nightmare was right. It had something black in it. The diamonds on the blade, right where the wood and the blade hot each other, were darker than expected. Notch had used magic on the blade to make it look like diamonds, but that was rather weird that those pure diamonds were black. I tilted my head and took the blade carefully. Not that this blade could cut my hand open, but if Nightmare would take it, it would cut his hand off like butter. The blade was so sharp, it could cut through stone like it was paper. The back blade wasn't that sharp, but it was darker than the other one. It was intentionally for ripping things without using the front blade.
I looked at Nightmare who started at the scythe in awe, and I remembered that he only saw it in a fight between us, and that not even for a long time. With a soft chuckle I turned to him and handed him my scythe with care. He winced and his breath stopped for a moment before he carefully raised his hands, fearful grabbing the long weapon. He started to smile and gently stroke over the engraving, looking like a young child as he did that. His eyes shot up to me and he gave me the scythe back. With a gentle chuckle I whispered: "Wouldn't it be awesome if it'd snow now?" Nightmare tilted his head. "It would be indeed, but that's impossible!", he said. A little smile appeared on my lips. "Are you so sure about that?"
With that, I raised the scythe with the blade in the air. Nightmare followed it with his eyes, completely confused. I gently swung the scythe. Out if nowhere it started to snow. Nightmares' eyes widened. It was amazing to see him so surprised. He raised his hand slowly and gently hit a snowflake, which ended in a quiet laughter. "How'd you do that?"
I grinned and shrugged. Together we went inside and I took some cookies from the cupboard, together with a glass of milk, bringing them to the living room where Nightmare was sitting. I put the cookies down and together we looked out the window, him leaning against my chest. He pulled a blanket over us both and took a cookie. Then he gently pushed it into my mouth. I bit a piece down and swallowed. He took a bite as well and his eyes widened. He swallowed and instantly asked: "How are you so good in cooking?!"
I shrugged and giggled. "I don't know. I usually don't cook, you know?"
He snuggled deeper into my chest and grabbed two more cookies, putting one between my teeth.
"Merry Christmas, Hero."
After I removed the cookie out if my mouth I purred back: "Merry Christmas to you too, you little devil."
