I Need to Know

C H I N E S E takeout carriers sat on the coffee table, alongside chopsticks that had a rubber band wrapped around their ends to make it easier for Bucky to use.

Glasses of soda sat on the coffee table as well, and a movie played on the TV.

Charlie was sitting at the end of the couch with a blanket wrapped around her, and a container of food sitting on her lap. Though she struggled to finish it, as she had already eaten too much of it.

She groaned and set the container on the coffee table and set her hand on a very full stomach. "I don't think I'll eat again for days."

Bucky smiled softly and looked down at the nearly empty container in his hands. He had taken off his thick jacket and was left only in a black shirt and his jeans. He even kicked off his heavy boots.

Charlie looked at him, noticing how weird it was to see him so comfortable and relaxed in her TV room. It was different from when they would sit together at the coffee shop.

She liked having a friend again.

"So what is the point of this movie again?" Bucky asked her, looking towards her. He noticed her staring.

Charlie looked away. "For my enjoyment. It's one of my favorites."

Bucky nodded very slowly and looked at the screen again. He couldn't relate to the movie at all, and while he did find some parts of it funny, he enjoyed watching Charlie more than the movie.

He liked how she laughed.

When it finally ended, Charlie switched it off and stood to find another movie. She shoved her hands in the pockets of her sweatpants and looked around for something that he might like more.

Bucky watched her, his eyes uncontrollably falling onto her ass. The pants were tight around her bottom and he couldn't stop himself from looking at her for a moment. Then he tore his eyes away and shook the thoughts from his head.

He only thought of her as a friend, that was all he needed right now.

"Do you want to watch something from your time? Like the Wizard of Oz or something?"

A smile immediately spread across Bucky's face as a distant memory filled his mind. "Steve and I... we saw that together."

Charlie hid her smile as she put the disc into the player and then went back to sit on the couch. "It must have been really cool to see it come out for the first time," Charlie said. She pulled the blankets back over her body.
