"Right now I feel complete
The way the light flashes in your eyes when you're with me
I feel I'm who I'm meant to be"

Sleeping with Sirens,

O L I V E R  was full of exhaustion as Bucky carried him up the stairs of the house. His small head rested gently on the muscled curve of Bucky's shoulder. His hands were slumped by his side as he dreamed of an endless supply of sugary sweets and plastic swords.

Charlie followed behind them and in her cold hands was the plastic pumpkin that was filled to the brim with candy.

It was nearing nine thirty, and Aiden had long since been picked up by his mother. It was past Oliver's bedtime but Charlie wasn't worried; he would sleep like a rock tonight.

She watched Bucky walked down the hallway to put Oliver in his bed for a moment, before going to sit at the kitchen table.

Charlie thought then about Bucky Barnes, and of course, the infamous Winter Solider. She knew very well that he had come from a dangerous past, and that he had once done more harm than good.

She didn't believe that the man currently putting her younger brother to bed, after helping the sleepy boy get into some sort of pajamas, was a dangerous man. She didn't believe that the man who was always so polite and loved the Wizard of Oz more than anyone she had ever met, was dangerous.

Though she knew he was running from his past, but that was okay; she was too.

When Bucky finally ventured from Oliver's room a few minutes later, his blue eyes laid on Charlie. He noticed how she had kicked off her shoes, leaving her feet clad in fuzzy pink socks. She sat with one leg underneath her and she tiredly looked through the candy that Oliver had collected.

"What are you doing?" He asked. His voice was rough and deep, and it reminded him of how soft hers was. He still had trouble feeling as if he fit with the Grant's.

"Just checking candy. Making sure that none of it's opened." She told him. She didn't have to tell him the reasons why; Bucky had seen more horror in this new world then he cared to let on.

The seat across from her was pulled back and he slowly sat down across from her. He watched as she slid a piece of candy towards him. "He'll never know."

Bucky felt guilty over taking the young boys candy, but Charlie showed no remorse as her teeth sunk into a miniature Hershey's bar.
