"On the outside, always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been?"

Ben Platt,
Waving Through A Window

T I M E was still a constant battle. The ticking of the clocks never seemed to stop, the world never stilled, and the days blended together.

For Charlie Grant, the new year seemed to come as quickly as last year stalled.

Days, weeks, months, all blurred together. January and February came and went, and March along with it. Bucky celebrated his one hundred and seventh birthday, and despite the oddness to it, Charlie and Oliver made it special for him.

And then suddenly it was spring. The snow was finally gone, leaving the town with budding flowers and trees. April brought warm weather and spring showers.

And baseball season picked up. Oliver Grant was the first to sign up for the towns team; just as he did the last spring he was alive.

Soon baseball revolved around the Grant's life just as it did long ago. They would sit in the TV room and cheer during the games.

Bucky adored how into it she got.

Other things started to change as well. With the time that had passed between Charlie's assault, the looming threat of being hurt by Noah seemed to vanish. She never showed him the note.

Bucky grew more comfortable around Charlie and Oliver; more than he thought was possible. And he continued his visits with the psychologist that Sam helped him find. His visits were very frequent in the beginning, though now months later, he had worked through an enormous amount of progress. He was even introduced to anxiety medication to help with his PTSD.

Bucky Barnes was finally happy.

He seldomly worked with Fury. His days attempting to salvage any parts of Shield were over, and the threat of Hydra disappeared to the point where it almost didn't exist at all. So there was little for him to do; there was little for any of the remaining Avenger's to do. For once there was no need for a fight, not villain to kill, but there was nothing for them to do.

He still stayed with Charlie and Oliver more often than he didn't.

Wanda Maximoff became another present in the Grant's life. After Charlie's first extended invitation, the scarlet witch became close with Charlie in a very unexpected way. Their friendship blossomed into a sisterhood; and Charlie unknowingly helped Wanda get out of the same rut that she found Bucky in all those months ago.

Everything was at peace. With the world finally at an okay standpoint, everything else settled. The blip had officially happened one year ago, and the traumatic aspects of it still lingered, but if there was one thing the world was good at, it was moving on.

Time never did stop.

lol we did my memoir piece in creative writing and I was really nervous cause a lot of the shit got personal (like when my dad told me I was disgusting and immoral for being queer lol) and it was soooo weird but like they all really liked it and like we were laughing about some of the humor I dropped into it and like???
