"Oh, my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
Time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?"

The Righteous Brothers,
Unchained Melody

T I M E  was an unstoppable force. It moved too quickly, unforgivingly, and without hesitation. The weeks following Thanksgiving passed quickly and without fail. The days before Christmas dwindled down until it was a week from the date.

It had been busy weeks for Charlie Grant. Who spent them shopping for gifts for her brother and friends, and sneaking around to avoid being caught by Oliver. It was also spent worrying over Bucky Barnes, who had since been gifted a motorcycle. Black as night and perfect for the former Solider, but now a constant worry for Charlie.

She didn't say anything about it though. She knew he had been in a lot more dangerous situations then simply riding a motorcycle. Still, she didn't like it.

And too soon the first snowfall of the season came, leaving Esopus in a beautiful dusting. Luckily not enough for school to be canceled, and Charlie found herself trudging through another long day at the coffee shop.

Though as three o'clock rolled around, she was more than happy to be able to clock out in the back room.

Bucky has visited it her briefly this morning, needing to see her face once before he needed to meet with Sam and Nick Fury about things. The visit was too quick for the both of them.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Leigh." Charlie said as she zipped up her jacket.

"Okay, thanks for everything today!" Leigh called out.

The air was cold when she stepped out of the coffee shop that Monday afternoon. She dug her hands into her pockets of her jacket and rounded the corner to the lot where her car was.

Her feet stopped mid step when she saw who was leaning against her car. "You've got to be kidding me."

"Charlie, listen to me." Noah began. "You're in a lot of danger."

"I don't have time for this, Noah. Move. Now." Charlie said.

"No, please Charlie. You have to listen to me. That guy is not your friend and he's dangerous. I think he's going to hurt you."
