"A R E you sure you can carry this?"
Bucky only smiled at her and nodded, watching as she set yet another bag on his metal arm. She watched his face very carefully and her eyes widened when he told her to add another.
"If you're trying to impress me, it's working." She jokingly told him. He was holding nearly all the bags. "Wow I would be dead right now if I tried to do that."
"Well, you and I are quite different."
"Yeah, you're telling me." Charlie said. She grabbed the last two bags and closed the trunk. "Alright Mr. Strong Man, let's go. I bet my ice cream is melting."
They walked up the driveway and into the house, Charlie making sure to hold open all the doors for him as he carried in nearly everything. And he made it look easy.
When everything was sitting on either the kitchen table of the floor below, Charlie sighed. "This is only going to last me like a week. I wish I was self sustaining." Then she huffed. "I like food too much."
Bucky smiled at her words and looked at her. She was in the middle of taking off her jacket, and the sweater she wore underneath it hugged her body tightly. He wanted to reach out to touch her, to hold her; instead he took a step back.
"Okay we've got to put this stuff away quick cause we've got to get Oliver soon."
"We?"
"Oh, uh..." She realized what she had said. "I just figured you'd be staying for dinner. Not that that's a bad thing. I'd love for you to stay, Oliver too."
"I can stay if you want." He interrupted her ramble.
Charlie smiled and exhaled the breath she didn't know she was holding in. "Okay, yeah, cool." She was nervous all of a sudden and she wasn't sure why. "I'm going to put this stuff away now."
Bucky watched her for a moment; and noticed how red her cheeks had gotten. He saw how she looked away from him and fought a smile. She was nervous. He wondered why she would be nervous around him.
They put all the groceries away in silence, only the sounds of scuffing feet and cabinets closing filled the kitchen. When it was finally finished and everything was away, Charlie grabbed an apple from the fridge.
