"Oh, my stomach's tied in knots
I'm afraid of what I'll find if you want to talk tonight"

Sleeping with Sirens,
Stomach Tied in Knots

"W E  started dating when I was eighteen. We dated for two years before the decimation. But he kind of isn't... the nicest. He had anger issues. I was planning on breaking up with him, then my parents died, and then Thanos. So..."

They were sitting on the couch. Charlie was sitting cross legged on the couch with her blanket wrapped around her.

"What do you mean he had anger issues?"

Charlie's eyes fell and he immediately knew what she meant. His fingers curled into a fist as he thought about anyone ever putting their hands on Charlie.

"It was only twice." She said quietly. "My parents never knew about it. Nobody does. You're the first person I ever told."

"Charlie..."

"We got into a huge fight when I was a freshman in college. He slapped me. He was sorry, he really was. And I was young and stupid." She laughed at her own idiotic actions. "Then I went out with some friends and came home a little drunk. He was pissed and went after me with a knife. A few days later my parents died and then well, everything else happened."

Anger was radiating off of Bucky as he thought about what that man had done to Charlie, and he wished he had beaten the shit out of him when he saw him only a few minutes ago.

"But it's okay," Charlie looked at the scar on the palm of her hand as she thought about that night. "I'm fine. I can handle it."

"You don't have to do it alone." He told her sincerely.

Charlie smiled and nodded. "Thank you, for everything Bucky. You're..." Her voice trailed off and she thought about what she was thinking about.

"I'm what?" He turned to face her.

"You're just different." She shook her head.

"I hope that's a good thing." Bucky told her with a small smile.

"It is." She played with her fingers.

Bucky's eyes were still on her as he watched her play with her nails. The thought of anyone hurting her still angered him greatly, and a small part of him, a very old part of him, wanted to find Noah and hurt him the way he had hurt Charlie.
