"Should this be the last thing I see
I want you to know it's enough for me
'Cause all that you are is all that I'll ever need"

"B U C K Y! Bucky, we're up here!" Charlie yelled as soon as she recognized his voice. She pulled on the restraints that held her down and they cut against her skin. "Oliver, the rope."

Oliver dropped to the ground, his hands landing on the rope. It burned against Charlie's skin and she cried out in pain as the fire from his hands was felt against her skin. But the rope cut away and Charlie was let loose.

Heavy footsteps ceased when Bucky stood at the top of the stairs. His blue eyes were clouded over with anger and they locked on Noah.

"Stay back, or I'll shoot." Noah warned, a gun against Charlie's forehead.

"Don't." Bucky said with warning in his tone. "Step away from Charlie."

Noah closed his eyes and licked his lips. "No, no, no! This is all wrong! Charlie and Oliver are coming with me."

"No, they aren't." Bucky said. "Drop the gun."

"Or what?" Noah chuckled softly.

"You won't kill her. You love her," Bucky said. Even though the words tasted like cardboard in his mouth, he knew they needed to be said. "You love Charlie. And you love Oliver. So drop the gun. Because you're going to seriously hurt her."

Noah looked down at Charlie then and his heart sank when he saw the slow trickle of half frozen tears run down her face. "Charlie." The gun fell away and Noah took a step back. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay, just let us go. You're sick, Noah. We can help you." Charlie said. She reached slowly up to try and take the gun away from Noah, but he took another step back.

"You love him." Noah said and looked at Bucky, who had taken several steps closer. "He's a monster, Charlie. I'll prove it to you."

Noah had the gun pointed towards Bucky now, warning him without words to not take a step closer. They all watched as Noah picked up the book from the end table and opened to the marked page.

Bucky's eyes fell shut when he heard the first of the long list of words that he had heard too often in his life. He grabbed the railing of the stairs as Noah continued.
