CALI....the phone call the changed my life

We arrived at Cali an hour ago. It's 8 right now. We just got to the hospital to meet my family there. "I'll grab the car seat! You grab the diaper bag!" Shawn says, turning the car off and jumping out. I jumped out of the rental car we rented and grabbed the diaper bag.

Shawn grabbed the car seat and we both rushed into the hospital. "Hey. How may I help you?" The lady asked who was working on the computer. "We're here visiting my mom! Carolina Williams!" I say. "Are you family?" She asked, and I nod.

"Yes. I'm her daughter and this is my fiancé and that's her sister" I answered and she nods. "I'll have a nurse show you to her room!" She says, waving a nurse down. "What's up?" The nurse asked. "Can you show these people where Carolina Williams room is" she asked.

"Of course. Follow me" the nurse says, walking ahead and we followed her to the room. "Here we are!" She says, opening the door for us. "Thank you" I smiled, Shawn walking into the room first. I walked in to see my mom was in bed sleeping. It looked like she hasn't woken up in days and the machines were...off.

"What's going?" I asked, dropping the diaper bag on the chair. "Your mom is dead" my dad simply answered and I just looked at him. "But when you called me earlier you said she was fine or whatever" I say and he shook his head. "No Aimee. You must've not heard me. I said your mom is dead" he said and I just looked at him. I broke down crying and Shawn held onto me. Aunt Tori was just standing there not knowing what to do cause she knew everyone hated her. She wanted to cry but tried holding it in.

"Come here!" My dad says pulling my aunt into a huge hug and that's when she bursted into tears. "I didn't even make up with her. She hated me and we left on bad terms. She's my sister!" Aunt tori cried into my fathers chest and he soothes her while Shawn calms me down. He was crying too but I really lost it.

"How did this happen?" I cried, pulling away from Shawn. "It was the cancer that did this. She constantly got dizzy and it got really bad to the point she would fall down because of how bad she got dizzy" my dad answered, still hugging my aunt.

"Why don't you guys go back to the house and we'll meet you there, okay?" My dad suggested. "Are you sure?" I asked and he nods. "Would you be able to take Madilyn though? She has school tomorrow. It's passed her bed time. I'll keep everyone else!" My dad asked, finally pulling away from my aunt.

"Of course" I say. Madilyn smiled, walking up to me and I grabbed her hand. Aunt tori grabs the diaper bag and Shawn grabbed the car seat of course and we left.

Back at home
We got to the house and I just got out of the car. We had a very silent car ride. "When we get inside can one of you feed Adalynn while I get Madilyn ready for bed" I asked and aunt tori nods. I grabbed Madilyn and put her down. "You're gonna take a shower" I say and she nods. "Okay Aimee. Where's mommy?" She asked and I tried my best not to cry.

"Well, you know how mommy was sick?" I asked, kneeling down to madilyns height and she nods. "Well she's in this place called Heaven. She feels a lot better and they're taking good care of her" I answered and she smiled.

"So like a doctor?" She asked and I chuckled. "Kind of. However, we won't see her for a long time" I answered, walking into the house with Shawn and aunt tori following behind. "I know how take my own shower!" Madilyn says with excitement. "Oh really?" I laughed and she nods.

"Let's go then!" I say, running upstairs with Madilyn behind me. We walked into the bathroom and set the shower on. "I'm gonna go into your room and get your pajamas ready. Okay? You take your shower and if you need anything just shout for me" I say and she nods taking her shirt off.

I walked out and Aaliyah was standing there and I jumped. "Oh my god!" I laughed, walking into Madilyn's room and she laughed following me. "Sorry. I just came over to see how you were doing" she says as I go through Madilyns drawers.

I just simply shrugged. "I'm hurting but seeing my Aunt like that hurt me even more. She tried everything to make things right with my mother and now she's dead. My aunt is thinking that it's her fault my mom won't forgive her" I say, pulling out a pair of pajamas from madilyns drawer.

"Do you know what you Aunt did to your mom? Like why does she hate her so much?" She asked and I looked at her sitting on Madilyn's bed. "It should be the other way around. My aunt should hate her. My mom has no reason to hate her. But I'm not gonna tell you what happened. She wants it to be a secret" I say and she nods.

"I have to head back home. I'll see you maybe tomorrow" she says and I nod as she walked out of the bedroom. "AIMEE" Madilyn yelled from the bathroom. I grabbed the pajamas and walked into the bathroom. "Here you go! I'll be in your bedroom!" I say, placing the pajamas on the bathroom sink. "Can you French braid my hair?!" She asked and I smiled.

"I sure can" I say, walking out as I grabbed the hairbrush from the bathroom sink. I walked back into her bedroom and sat on the bed. "I'm gonna set the play pen up in your room. Your aunt is downstairs with Adalynn" Shawn says, peeking through the door and I nod.

Madilyn walks in and throws her clothes into her hamper. I smiled as she sits down in front of me. I already had 2 rubber bands on my wrist so I didn't have to look for on.

"I missed you so much" Madilyn smiled making me smile. "I missed you too baby" I smiled, French braiding her hair. After I finished I tied it with the rubber band. "Okay. Get in bed" I smiled, standing up so Madilyn could climb into bed. "Are you gonna be here tomorrow" she asked, pulling the covers over her.

"Yes. I might be here for a while!" I smiled, and she smiled happily. "Yay!" She says and I chuckled. "Okay. Go to bed. Goodnight" I say, kissing her forehead. "Goodnight" she smiled. I turned the light off and walked out of the room. I walked back downstairs to see Adalynn sleeping on Aunt Tori and I smiled.

"If you want you could bring Adalynn upstairs and lay her in the play pen since she's already in her pjs. I'm pretty sure Shawn's done setting it up" I say and she nods, carefully getting up and I smiled. I sighed grabbing the dirty bottle that Adalynn just had and walked into the kitchen. I put the bottle in the sink and just leaned over the sink looking out the small window that was above the sink.

"Hey baby" Shawn says, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind as he kisses my neck. I leaned my neck sideways as he continued to kiss it. "Babe, if you want you could go home to your family. You haven't seen them for a while. I'm sure they miss you" I say. "No babe. I'm staying with you" he says, kissing up my neck. "Are you sure" I simply asked, slowly turning around meeting face to face with him.

"Yes. You need me now the most so I'm gonna be there for you" he says, biting his lip getting closer and I smiled as he kissed me. We got interrupted as my phone went off saying I have a text. It was from my dad saying "he's on his way home" so I just answered with a okay.

"Why don't you go to bed? You look exhausted" Shawn says, as aunt tori came down. "Are you sure?" I asked and he nods. "Yeah. Ill wait until your dad comes home and then I'll go upstairs" he says and I looked at him. "Can you come with me?" I asked, with puppy dog eyes and he looked at Aunt tori.

"Go. I'll be fine. I'll wait for them" she smiled. "Come on baby" he says, grabbing my hand and walking me up stairs. After I changed into my pajamas I walked back into my room to see Shawn only in his boxers and shirtless. I smiled, plugging my phone in and getting into bed. Shawn pulls the cover over us and I smiled. "Come here baby" he says, pulling me closer and I laid my head on his chest as he held me close.

As I run my fingers across his abs a tear slipped. "wanna talk about it?" He asked. I guess he felt my tear fall on his chest. I just shook my head no as he played with my hair. "You know we haven't had a moment like this for a while? Like the cuddles and just laying here while you play with my hair and I play with your abs" I say and he smiled.

"I know" he simply answered and I smiled just enjoying the peaceful moment we were having and how he just kept holding me tighter as I cried. With that I fell asleep.
