KAREN'S FIRST TIME BABYSITTING

Aimees POV
It was the next day. It was about 6:30. We just pulled into the daycare parking lot. I grab Adalynn out of the car and walked into the building. I signed in and peeked into the baby room to see the light was on. I guess Jill was already in.

I dropped my lunchbox on my desk and walked into the baby room. "Hey" I smiled, placing the car seat on the floor and the diaper bag next to her. "Her stuff is all in there. You know the drill. She's due for a bottle right about now" I say and Jill nods smiling.

I walked out and to my desk. "Hey! Before I forget here is Rosie's key for the daycare! If you by any chance get here before me or stay till closing you could unlock or lock the door" christine says handing me the key. I smiled hooking it up to my car keys so I wouldn't lose it. "Thanks" I smiled grabbing my car keys and walking into the baby room to see Jill making a bottle. "I'm just throwing these in the diaper bag" I say throwing my car keys into the bag and walked out.

Miss Nicole walked passed me and I smiled. "Hi!" I say about to walk away. "Oh hey! Can I get a time off form?" She asked and I nod walking to my desk. The time off form is where they request time off and find coverage and they hand it in.

I grabbed it off my desk and handed it to Nicole who was behind me. "Thank you!" She says, walking away and I sat at my desk. I turn my computer on and heard the door open. I look over to see Arya and her mom. I smiled walking up to them. "MIMI!!" She yelled running to me. That's what the younger kids call me when they try saying Miss. Aimee.

"Hey Arya! Ready for school?" I say grabbing her lunchbox from her mom. "Yes!" She says jumping up and down I laughed I grabbing her hand. "So this shirt has been going home with Arya the past few days but it isn't hers" her mom says handing me the shirt.

"Okay. I'll let Miss. Nicole know" I smiled. "Okay. Thank you" she smiled. "No problem. Have a great day" I say walking away with Arya. "Hey Arya!" Miss Nicole says as Arya walked into the classroom.

I smiled looking back at Nicole. "This shirt is going home with Arya the past few days but her mom said it's not hers" I say and she nods. I walk back over to my desk and sat down.

The daycare phone starts ringing so I answered it. "Rainbow Children. How may I help you?" I say.

"It's Violette's dad. I'm just calling to let you know that Violette will not be in today. She's sick" he says.

"Okay. Hope she feels better" I smiled hanging up. I get up and walked into the baby room. "Hey Jill. Violette's dad just called. She's sick so she will not be in today" I say and she nods.

I walked out and back to my desk as my cell phone starts ringing. I looked at the caller ID to see who it was. It was Karen, Shawn's mom.

"Hey momma. What's up!" I smiled. "Nothing much. I have nothing planned for the day and was wondering if I could take Adalynn for a few hours? I know she's at daycare and that you're working so I could pick her up and I know Aaliyah would like that" she says.

"Really?" I smiled. She was never alone with Adalynn. Like she never really babysat her but I'm glad she's starting to. 

"Yeah" she says happily and I chuckled. "Sounds good to me. What time you wanna come grab her" I asked and she thought about it for a second.

"What about around 12" she suggested and I look to see Christine walking towards me. "Yeah that's perfect. Right before nap time" I smiled. We say our goodbyes and I hang up putting my phone next to my laptop and stood up hooking the daycare phone to the back of my pocket.

"What's up?" I asked looking at Christine. "I just wanted to let you know that we have a tour today around 10 for the baby room" she says and I nod walking into the back room. Adalynn was doing tummy time on the play mat they have here.

I smiled looking at Jill. She kinda looked really stressed out. She was in the middle of changing someone so I walked in. "I just wanted to let you know that my daughter is leaving around 12" I say and she nods. "And we also have a tour coming in for this room around 10" I say and she just nods.

"Is everything okay?" I asked and she looked at me. "It's kinda hard being in this room by myself with 4 babies until 8:30. They're all crying besides Adalynn. I never hear Adalynn cry at all" she chuckled and smiled watching her try getting on her knees to move around.

"Do you want me take one of the kids for a little?" I asked and she shook her head. "No. They're fine for now. Thanks for asking" she smiled lifting up Violette off the changing table.

"No problem. Just yell my name if you need me" I say and she nods smiling. I smiled walking out of the room and back to my desk.

"How are you so good at this job already and you literally just started" Christine asked walking up to me and I smirked. "Because I'm magical" I chuckled hearing the door open. I look to see one of the school agers.

They usually come in on their own with their parents of course. But they know what to do. I waved to Emma's mom and sat at my desk. "Well I'm going to get my snuggle time in with Adalynn!" She says skipping away and I rolled my eyes laughing and did my work on my computer.

The school agers were getting way to loud and wouldn't listen to Mr. Tyler. Mr. Tyler is the teacher for school age obviously. He was also really cute. Not gonna lie.

I stand up and looked at the school agers. "SCHOOL AGE!! YOU ARE GETTING WAY TO LOUD!! QUIET IT DOWN AND LISTEN TO YOUR TEACHER! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR MR. TYLER YELL AT YOU AGAIN!! IF I HEAR YOUR NAME ONCE YOU WILL BE SITTING BY ME AND NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL!" I yelled and they all looked at me.

"I'd love to sit next to her any day" one the boy whispered thinking I wouldn't hear him. "Or you'll be sitting in that corner" I say pointing to the corner and he immediately stopped and looked away.

I take a deep breath and Christine walked out of the baby room and went straight to her office. I looked at the door as it opened to see Gabriel and another girl Emma which is his sister. Emma walks into the school age room where she belongs.

I smiled as their mom hands me Gabriel who was crying. "NOOOOO!" He yelled kicking me and I smiled grabbing his bag and lunch box. "It's okay" I say walking to Ms. Nicole's class.

"MOMMY" he yelled trying to run out of the room and I quickly shut the door. "Here's his bag" I say handing Nicole his book bag and I put his lunchbox in the fridge.

FEW HOURS LATER
It's been a few hours. I looked at the time to see it was 12:05. Everyone is eating lunch right now. I looked at the door to see Shawn's mom. I smiled and getting up from my desk and walked into the baby room.

I looked to see Adalynn was eating lunch and she was a total mess. I laughed looking at her. "Dang. Somebody was hungry" I say in a baby voice and she giggled.

Even with the bib on her it was all over her and her clothes. Even in her hair. I just laughed looking at Jill who was feeding her. "She's going home. So just clean her up and get her ready please" I say and she smiled.

I walked out of the room and walked up to Karen. "Hey momma" I say, signing Adalynn out on the computer since she doesn't have the fingerprint yet.

"They're getting Adalynn ready. They gave her lunch so she's kinda messy" I laughed and she smiled nodding. "So you don't have to worry about feeding her dinner or anything. If she starts getting cranky you could make her a bottle" I say and she nods.

After Adalynn left I went back to my desk. It was a pretty easy afternoon. I decided to stay until like 4 today and then I went home. Shawn picked Adalynn up from his moms so I didn't have to worry about it. When I got home we just ate dinner and relaxed.
