Aimee's POV The next thing I know is that my jaw dropped and I dropped my phone as I broke down. "Baby what happened?" Shawn asked, jumping up. I quickly picked up my phone. "We're on our way!" I say answering as Shawn looked at me confused. "M-My moms in the hospital" I cried and he quickly wrapped me in a tight hug.
"Is she okay?" He asked, his voice cracking. "It doesn't sound like it. My dad called from the hospital. He did not sound good at all. He said she's dying. It has something to do with the cancer!" I continued to cry. "Do you want me to pick up Adalynn and you could get the plane tickets?" He suggested.
"I'll go get Adalynn. You could do that. Get 4. I'm gonna see if Aunt tori wants to come" I say and he nods. I grabbed my phone and called the daycare. "Hello?" Christine answered.
"Hey Christine. This is Aimee. Can you please have Adalynn ready. I have to pick her up earlier. I have a family emergency! I should be there in 10 minutes!" I say. "Of course. I'll let the girls know!" She says hanging up. I quickly called my Aunt and she answered immediately.
"Hey Ai-" she starts talking but I quickly cut her off. "My mom is in the hospital! It has something to do with her cancer so we're flying to Cali today! Do you wanna come?" I asked, my voice cracking. "Omg yes! I'll start packing!" She says. "I'm going to pick up Adalynn right now. Meet us at our apartment as soon as possible!" I say hanging up.
"I'll be back" I say, grabbing my keys and running out. Shawn was already working on getting the tickets. I jumped into my Tesla and drove to the daycare. I looked a mess. Like I looked really bad.
I quickly ran inside and signed Adalynn out on the computer. I quickly ran into the back room, everyone staring at me. I see Adalynn in the car seat on the table. "Woah. Are you okay?" both Jill and Marissa both asked at the same time. "Aimee, are you okay?" Christine asked, running into the baby room and I looked at her. That's when I just bursted into tears.
"Come here" Christine says, pulling me into a tight comforting hug. "Calm down" she says, rubbing my back. I wiped my tears away pulling out of the hug. "What's going on?" She asked. "My mom is in the hospital. She had or has cancer and it did not sound good at all when my dad called. So now we have to fly to California where my family lives and I don't know how long we'll be down there. Shawn is at home getting the tickets" I say, taking a deep breath and Jill hugged me. "I'm here if you need anything" she says and I smiled pulling away.
"So, I didn't know if you still wanted me to put her pajamas on so I did it anyways" she says and I smiled with a thank you. She was wearing her little Nike footed pj.

"She was also just changed so she has a cleaned fresh diaper on and I also just fed her a bottle so she should be good on that. I didn't know if you had to go somewhere so I did wash her bottles out and filled it with water again just in case so you just have to put the formula in" Jill smiled. "Thanks so much. Can you actually put some extra diapers in the diaper bag and her formula in as well?" I asked. "Of course" Jill says, grabbing the diapers and formula.
"Oh!" Marissa says, rushing to the crib with Adalynn's name on it. "Don't forget her blanket!" She laughed, placing it on Adalynn. "Thank you" I laughed. "Okay. Her diapers and formula are in the diaper bag and she has her pacifier in her mouth so everything should be in her bag!" Jill says, handing me the diaper bag. With that I started walking out.
"Aimee, keep me updated. Text me or call me. And if you ever and I mean EVER need anything just come to me" Christine says holding the door open for me. "Thank you" I smiled, walking out.
Once I got to the apartment I grabbed the diaper bag and obviously the car seat and quickly ran to our room and walked in to see a bunch of suitcases at the door and Aunt Tori was also here.
"We have to go! I got the ticket for the soonest flight which is in a hour! I packed up our suitcases and Adalynn's. I packed a few extra bottles and like 2 packs of diapers. I also have the play pen and bouncer and the play mat for Adalynn!" Shawn says and I nod. With that we left for Cali. —————————————————————————— What do you think is going to happen?
