THE TALK WITH CHRISTINE

Aimee's POV
The next day I woke up and rubbed my eyes so they adjust to the light. I looked next to me to see Adalynn wasn't there. I got out of bed and walked into the living room to see Shawn feeding Adalynn a bottle.

"Why are you here? It's already 8:30! You should be at work!" I say, sitting on the couch next to Shawn. "I took the day off to take care of you!" He smiled making me smile. "Babe, you didn't have to" I say, kissing him. "I'm feeling a tiny bit better" I added, and he smiled. "Well you could take the day to relax. I'm gonna take Adalynn to daycare" he says, putting the empty bottle on the coffee table.

"I actually wanna go because you said Christine has to talk to me" I say, standing up and grabbing the car seat. "You sure?" He asked, placing Adalynn into the car seat and I nod. I was in sweat pants and a top so I just decided to leave like that. My hair was in a ponytail and it wasn't really messy.

At the daycare
I walked into the daycare facility and looked to see Alexa in the front room with the younger toddlers. "Hey Aimee!!" She says and I smiled. "Hey" I say, signing Adalynn into the computer. I looked back at Alexa after I finished. "Do you know why Christine has to talk to me?" I whispered and she looked at me coming by the entrance still in the room. I saw Rosie in the pre-k room which was in the front as well and gave me a dirty look.

"No. All I know is yesterday Rosie left pissed and Christine was really pissed" she says and I just sighed nodding. "Okay" I simply said. "Let me know what happens" Alexa said and I nod walking away with Adalynn. I walked into the baby room and set the car seat on the table.

Christine was in the room talking to Jill and Marissa. "Hey!" I say, handing Marissa the diaper bag. "How are you feeling? Shawn told us you were sick yesterday so he picked Adalynn up!" Jill asked, and I shrugged. "I'm feeling better. I'm still not the greatest but I'm feeling better than yesterday!" I say, watching Christine as she took Adalynn out of the car seat and I smiled.

"So as usual everything's in her bag. Her bottles, her clothes, etc" I say and they nod. "I don't know if you read the daily sheet we sent home everyday with what they did when they ate etc I put that she needs a crib sheet for the crib" Jill says and I shook my head. "Shawn's the one who picked her up. He probably forgot to tell me. I'll bring one in tomorrow" I say and they nod. "Hey baby girl" Christine smiled, kissing Adalynn all over her face and I just chuckled as Adalynn giggled.

"Uh Christine. Shawn told me that you had to talk to me. Do you still need to?" I asked and she looked at me. "Yes I do!" She says, handing Jill Adalynn. "Come with me" she says, picking up her clipboard and the phone for the daycare. We walk out of the room, into the preschool room, to her desk which was in the latchkey or school she room.

Rosie was back in her office so she couldn't hear as talking. "What's up?" I asked, sitting down in the chair next to her and she looked at me. "I don't know if you know this or not but me and Rosie got into a huge fight because she doesn't like the fact you're taking over with me" she says, and I just sighed looking down.

"But I just want to let you know that you have nothing to worry about. You WILL be working here whether Rosie likes it or not. I WILL not give up. I won't stop fighting for you Aimee and I hope you know that. I will not stop until I get what I want. And it's not even Rosie's choice if I'm hiring you or not. It's really my choice and you WILL be working with us" she says and I smiled. "Thank you. That means a lot" I say hugging her.

"Of course. Everybody here loves you and Adalynn. Alexa was so concerned about you and she said she'll help me fight for you" she says and I smiled. "I know. She told me" I say and Christine smiled. "I just thought you should know what's going on" she says and I hug her once again. "That means a lot" I say, pulling away. "See you later!" She smiled. I get up and walked into the front room.

"Did anything happen?" Alexa asked. "No. She just told me what happened and that she's not gonna stop fighting for me" I say and she smiled. "I have to go. I'll see you later" I say and with that I walked out.

Back at home
"Hey babe" Shawn smiled as I walked in. I guess he heard the door opened. "Hey" I smiled, walking into the kitchen and my eyes widened. He was cleaning around the house. "Wow. You're cleaning?" I laughed, wrapping my arms around him from behind. He was doing the dishes. "I wanted you to have a break so I'm gonna clean up a little" he says and I smiled.

"Oh. How'd it go with Christine?" He asked, and I walked over to the table and sat down. "Good. She explained to me what happened and was telling me that she will continue to fight for me and make sure that I have a job there" I say and he nods.

"Adalynn has a doctors appointment tomorrow. They called to confirm it" he says. "Oh yeah. I forgot about that" I laughed looking at my phone as it started to ring. It was my dad.

"Hey Daddi-o!" I laughed. "Sounds like someone's feeling better" he laughed back. "What's up?" I asked. "Nothing much! I just wanted to let you know that we might've found a house! We're still waiting to hear from the lady which will take a few days. The best part is that we could move in whenever we want if we get this house!" He says and I smiled.

"That's amazing!! How far is it from us?" I asked. "About 10 minutes! Which isn't bad. And it's a huge one too so everyone gets their own bedrooms!" He says excitedly and I smiled.

"I can't wait!" I say. "We can't either! I have to go. Talk to you later!" He says and with that he hung up and Shawn looked at me. "So my family may of found a house! They're waiting for a call and they could move in right away!" I say and he smiled. "Did he say if my family found a house yet?" He asked and then I frowned shaking my head. "No. Sorry" I mumbled.

"It's okay" he simply said and I looked at him nodding. "I have off tomorrow too! So if you want I could take Adalynn to the doctors. We could take her to daycare and just pick her up early. The appointment isn't until 12" Shawn suggested and I nod.

"I'm feeling sick again" I say, laying me head in my hands leaning on the table. "Go lay down on the couch and relax" he says, turning the sink off and walking towards me. "Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yeah. I'll finish cleaning and then I'll pick up Adalynn. Just relax" he says, kissing me head and I smiled. "Thank you" I say, getting up and hurrying into the living room. I lay down on the couch and fell asleep shortly. I fell asleep for the rest of the day.
