Soobin stood there, cheeks stinging for a moment. It almost, funnily, felt like a reality check with himself and the world he was in.

The words that Taejoon uttered swam around his head like vile poison, seeping through every thought and it just made him so angry. He questioned himself on the stupid, stupid choices he made, all these ridiculous rash decisions that he was paying for now.

Soobin turned around to punch the wall but stopped before his fist made contact. He gritted his teeth, hand trembling from the sheer force of him clenching them. A few people walked pass and gave him weird looks, but they continued their way.

If I punch the wall, Soobin thought, it's gonna bleed and Yeonjun is going to ask you what happened, and everything will be blown.

"Fuck." Soobin huffed under his breath. He crouched down and placed his head in his hands.

How in the world was he supposed to break up with the love of his life? Did those thugs have shit for their brain? Well, he guessed it was to make his life more difficult than it already was, that fucking sadist Taejoon.

Soobin raised his head and looked up at the sky. Warm sunlight fell on his face.

But then again...maybe that was the best for Yeonjun's well being, Soobin thought to himself.

As long as Yeonjun was together with him, he'll never be safe and find peace in their love. And after going through so much violence, so much pain and sadness, Yeonjun deserves non of this bullshit that Soobin had dragged along into their lives.

Soobin sighed, heavily and deeply. His heart ached but he knew no matter what, the last thing he wanted for for Yeonjun to end up getting hurt because of him.

The male brushed his hair aside and controlled his breathing as he stood up and towards the cafe.

He made up his mind on how he was going to protect Yeonjun.

"What took you so Long?" Yeonjun smiled as Soobin sat down in front of him. Yeonjun immediately sensed something was wrong.

"Oh nothing...just had a really nice shit that's all." Soobin replied, adjusting his seat properly. He looked down at the cream bun and suddenly, he didn't have the appetite to eat after knowing what he was going to do.

But he had to do it...maybe he should start planning to spend their last few moments together properly. But still he worried, and truth to be told, he didn't really have a solid plan.

He needed one in which Yeonjun wouldn't question so much about his decision, where he's just pack up and go so that the ugly truth wouldn't come to light. This way Yeonjun wouldn't try to get involve in the gang business to protect him and end up, well hurting himself.

A simple breakup won't even do. Yeonjun is smart, Soobin knows that very well and that if he just breaks up, Yeonjun will definitely hound after him. And well....

"And then he— Soobin are you still listening?" Yeonjun stopped in his lively description of a funny incident when he saw Soobin staring off into the unknown. On instinct, Yeonjun reached out and laid his hand on Soobin's.

Much to Yeonjun's surprise, the boy flinched. And that was when Yeonjun knew something was wrong.

"Hey, spill it, I know something's wrong."

"Huh? Nothing...just tired that's all. And thinking about basketball practice," Soobin smiled back when he saw Yeonjun's worried eyes on him.

Yeonjun sighed and picked up the cream bun. Breaking a piece off, he held his hand up and in front of Soobin's mouth. By the tone of Soobin's voice, Yeonjun genuinely believed he was tired and decided to comfort his lover for now.

"Cmon eat up you big baby."

Soobin laughed and leaned forward to take a bite. Soobin then took his time to take in Yeonjun's features as he slowly chewed on the bun.

How beautiful, Soobin thought, admiring the older's lips and sparkling eyes. Soobin reached out and ran his hand through Yeonjun's soft blue hair

"What?"

Soobin shook his head and continued brushing Yeonjun's hair out of his eyes.

"You're acting weird." Yeonjun said and leaned back out of Soobin's touch teasingly

Soobin pouted and picked up the spoon to continue eating his bun.  "Can't I admire my own boyfriend?"

Yeonjun smiled shyly and looked down, going back to sipping his drink.

"Soobin-ah"

"Yes?"

"Will you ever leave me?" Yeonjun asked absentmindedly, swirling his drink.

Soobin swallowed thickly. Has Yeonjun caught on already? He sighed and cupped Yeonjun's cheeks. He stared straight into those orbs.

Hope.

It was shining like two bright stars, suspended in the darkness, Soobin's reflection in them.

Could he ever bare to see those lights go out?

"Never in a million years."

Yeonjun smiled.

"Promise?"

Soobin could only hope those lights shining were strong enough to carry Yeonjun through the dark and blind him from the evil. Forgive me, Soobin said in his mind, hoping somehow the words will reach Yeonjun subconsciously.

"Of course."
