5:48pm
Today Mark and I graduated from college.
Compared to my highschool graduation, this one was much better.
I actually smiled as a student walked across the stage. I knew no one in highschool but in college, I knew Mark.
Mark waved happily at the crowd as he accepted his bachelor's degree in social science. A large smile played on my lips as I watched my sunshine on the stage.
When I walked across the stage, I expected silence. There's no need to cheer for me, I'm unworthy.
But, there was Mark.
"Whooo! Go Jackson!" Mark shouted loudly and clapped his hands.
Soon the other males and females of our class clapped their hands and cheered for me. Eventually, all of the participants at the college graduation ceremony applauded me.
"You did good, Jackson." My professor smiles at me as he hands me my bachelor's degree in engineering.
I looked toward the crowd and held my arms into the air. A triumph smile played on my lips.
Their cheers got louder and their claps echoed in the stadium.
It felt good to be in that moment.
So warm and comforting.
Now here we are at home.
Mark exhausted himself with all of his cheering. Half of his body lays on my body as we listen to smooth jazz.
His face rests on my chest, his arm is sprawled across my torso, and one of his legs rest in between mine. I rub his back as I inhale his sweet scent.
"I love this." Mark snuggles into my chest.
I hum in response. My fingers find their way up Mark's white shirt and I start to caress his smooth skin.
My fingers explore his warm, smooth skin unconsciously.
Mark giggles.
"That tickles."
"You're so smooth."
"What can I say?" Mark raises his head to look at me. His chin rests on my chest. "I'm a smooth criminal."
"Oh my-" I genuinely laugh from his ridiculous joke.
"It was funny!" Mark laughs with me.
"You're anything but a criminal." I tell him truthfully.
"I'm an angel aren't I?" He rests his face back against my chest.
"Yes you are." I stroke his hair.
"Your angel?" Mark draws a circle with his finger over my shirt and on top of my stomach.
"My angel."
