Today is my favorite day of the week. The day that made me become the man I am today.
Saturdays are close to my heart. Because of you, my angel.
The birds chirp as I stare at the bright flowers in the garden that you built years ago. They're as bright as the owner.
It's been 25 years.
25 years since you died Mark. 25 years since I last felt your touch.
My thumb rubs against the picture frame I'm holding. A picture of Mark. He's smiling brightly.
His black hair was messy, his face was glowing with joy. This was the night I took him out for karaoke. We had so much fun.
I wish he could be here today.
"Grandpa!"
I really wish you could be here, Mark.
I hear little feet patter into the living room. A smile creeps onto my face as my three grandchildren greet me with their hugs.
"Hey! You little cuties!" I lift my youngest grandchild, Jia, into the air. She giggles and laughs loudly.
"Me! Me too!" Minji and Minjae pull on my pants.
Soon, I have three little children in my arms. Their laughter and happiness brightens our house.
"Daddy!" Sana walks into the room and runs to me. She embraces me tightly.
"Hey princess." I hug her back. The hug breaks and I pat her round belly.
"Number 3?" I smirk, Sana laughs.
"More the better."
"Old man!" Dong Joon runs into the room. I laugh when he barges into my arms. "I missed you."
"I missed you too." I rub his broad back. Look at how they've grown, Mark.
Our children.
Sana's husband and Dong Joon's wife greet me as always when they come down to visit. The kids go play in the backyard and I sit on the swinging chair on the back porch.
The young adults are inside cooking dinner. They order me to relax.
I relax on our porch.
I still live in the house that we bought together, Mark. I'll never give it up.
I'll never give you up, Mark.
I've never been in love with anyone other than you, Mark.
Everything is about you.
Every day I'm reminded that I'm alone.
To this day, I still cry.
I visit your grave almost every day.
All of the days that are our special days, I cry the most on those days. Today is May 12th, the day we first met. We only knew each other for two years but, it felt like an eternity.
I'll never forget the days we spent together. How you changed my life and made me who I am today.
I love you, Mark.
I smile as the children tackle each other to the ground.
Life has been good since I adopted Sana and Dong Joon. I raised them, I taught them, I loved them. Look at them now, starting families of their own.
Sana has a set of twins, boy and girl. They're five years-old. She's expecting another boy this fall. As she said earlier, the more the better.
Dong Joon is happily married with his wife. They have a three year old girl, Jia. She's a sweetheart.
