Molly makes a confession to Tara while Negan struggles with his relationship with Judith and discovers Molly's lies

It had been a couple weeks since we got back to Hilltop.

I wanted to tell Tara everything but I never felt like there was a perfect moment.

At last I plucked up the courage and asked her to meet me by the lookout on the front gates.

Tara being Tara obviously wanted to know right then and there what I wanted to talk to her about but I managed to make her wait until we were out of earshot.

We walked down to the front gates where only Yumiko and Magna were on guard duty and were on the lookout on the other gate so I knew they wouldn't be able to hear us.

We both climbed up the wooden ladder and sat with side by side, our legs dangling off the ledge of the platform so we could see everyone below.

'So...' she started as she nudged me with her shoulder.

I chuckled softly, a smile growing across my face when I thought of him.

Tara obviously noticed this and gasped saying 'this is about him isn't it'.

I gave her a knowing look, 'he has a name' I said warningly.

'Yeah I know, it's arrogant bastard right?' she said sarcastically.

I just raised my eyebrows and nodded in agreement.

'Look, I need to tell you something...' I said struggling to decide where to begin

She raised her eyebrows and waited silently for me to continue.

'About Simon' I added which made her turn her body around to face me directly as she crossed her legs.

'What about him?' she asked quietly.

'Negan killed him for me' I whispered.

I knew no one could hear but I wanted to make sure.

I didn't want anyone knowing about what happened to me without me telling them of my own free will.

'What?!' she shouted.

'Shh!' I said through gritted teeth.

Magna and Yumiko looked over at us with their eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the noise.

'I'm sorry, but what?!' Tara whispered.

'I know' I added now looking at the ground.

'Wow, one of his own huh?' she continued.

'Well, I'll never like him, you know that. But, he did good by you which means that I won't try to kill him' she said seriously.

I chuckled and said 'thanks for that'.

'Do you think he's changed? I mean after all these years?' she asked as she held my hand.

'I-I don't know, I hope so. I want to believe that he has but everyone keeps telling me not to trust him. Rosita lectured me a couple weeks ago about him, like I was some naive kid who didn't know shit. I know who he is, what he's done. But, I just can't explain it, it's like I'm tied to him, like we're one person' I said softly.

I didn't notice at first, but Tara was completely silent, her eyes wide open as she just listened attentively.

'What?' I asked as I turned my head to look at her amazed expression.

'I just, wow. You've never spoke about anyone like that, even Henry...' she said in awe.

I smiled slightly until it faded with each increasingly anxious thought.
