Negan was right, Molly and the others did want him to be a certain kind of a good man. He thought that he could just play the part for Molly, but without realising it, soon he would be doing it for himself.
'Hey Gabe would you give us a minute' I said as I didn't take my eyes off of Negan.
'I'm not sure that I c-' Gabe started to say before I cut him off.
'Please' I said sternly as I held out my hand for the keys.
He handed me them hesitantly, closed the door and waited outside.
The walls were thin so I knew he would still be able to hear us, but I didn't plan on talking.
I walked over to his cell door, all the while keeping my focus on his eyes as I unlocked the door and waltzed over to him.
I smirked as he said quietly, 'whatcha doin?' as he looked me up and down.
Without any response, I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my lips lightly against his own.
He smiled against my lips cockily as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
The kiss lasted only a few seconds before I pulled away and he rested his forehead against my own as we kept our eyes closed and just listened to each other's breathing.
'I'll see you soon' I whispered as his hand drifted from my waist to my hand, which he held gently and rubbed circles on my skin with his thumb.
I now opened my eyes and looked into his own which were soft and amber.
His lids were heavy with lust after our kiss.
'I'll be good, for you' he whispered back as he let go of my hand hesitantly and let me leave.
'You're not going straight to Hilltop are you?' he said with a raised brow.
'How did you guess?' I replied.
'Your eyes, I can always tell when you're hatching a plan' he responded, half smiling, half frowning with worry.
I didn't reply since he already knew where I was headed anyway.
I had expected him to make some sarcastic cocky remark about how I had kissed him and that he was right about me wanting him, but somehow the moment felt too sincere and serious for that.
I hopped on my bike, strapped on my helmet and smiled to myself at our kiss.
I finally felt like we were in a good place.
I started the engine, waved to Gabriel who stood there looking at me with slight confusion at what had just transpired in that cell.
I knew my way there, it had been so familiar to me for so very long.
I was finally ready, ready to go back and face my past.
I wouldn't let it control or own me anymore, plus I wanted to get my vengeance.
The Sanctuary certainly looked like all those years of neglect had hit it, shattered glass from the windows was all over the courtyard and walker bodies lay on the concrete out front.
I tried to steady my breathing as I knew what was coming and who I would have to once again face.
I searched along the wire fencing till I found the only walker still chained to it, with some sort of liquid metal on its head.
I winced as I walked slowly around to look at its face.
It was him, Simon.
He snarled and tried to grab at me.
