A/N - I love this sm

The nations of New York and South Carolina have been at war for ages and only one thing can stop it. Marriage.

Alexander's POV

"NO WAY! UH UH! I AM NOT MARRYING THAT STUCK UP PIECE OF SHIT!" I yelled angrily.
   "Alex, please?" George begged.
"I DONT CARE IF ITLL END THE WAR! WHY CANT IT BE LAF?" I slammed my hands on the table and a maid jumped.
   "I'm sorry, Alexander."

John's POV

"Yes, father." I mumbled, dejectedly. I didn't want to marry that girl. I didn't even know the Washington's had a daughter. "May I be excused?" My father nodded and I trudged back to my room. I fell on my bed and my maid, Martha, stepped in.
"John, I thought you wanted to end the war."
"I do but I never said I wanted to sign away my freedom."
"With a girl on your arm your father won't have very much cause to hurt you."
   "Maybe." I sighed.

"Fix your tie." My father growled.
"Yes, father." I fixed the tie and straightened up as a limo passed the gates. It stopped into front of the steps and the driver opened the door. He offered his hand to someone inside and they took it. A girl stepped out wearing a beautiful black dress and I shifted. She was attractive and I couldn't take my eyes off her. King Washington stepped out after him and my father sneered. The girl made her way up the steps and stood in front of me. She was really attractive. She had lots of freckles sprinkling her tan skin and violet eyes. Her smile was obviously forced and her curly red hair was neatly pinned up.
"Alexandra Hamilton." She hummed and offered her hand. I frowned and she sighed. "Kiss my hand. The cameras are watching." She mumbled.
"Oh, right." I bowed and kissed her hand and she pulled it away. "Um...I'm John Laurens." She nodded and we got really awkward. We were ushered inside and into the dining hall. We sat across from each other and the lights were dimmed.
   "Are there any cameras?"
   "No."
"Good. Listen. First of all, my name is Alexander, not Alexandra. Misgender me and you're dead. Second, we pretend we like each other in front of the cameras. When we aren't in front of the cameras you don't need to talk to me. Got it?"
"Got it." I mumbled, Martha came with the drinks and I smiled. "Hey, Mari." I smiled.
"Hey, John. Brought your favorite." She set the glass down and Alex crossed his arms.
"Martha!" My father roared, I flinched and Martha rubbed my shoulder before running off.
"What is wrong with you." Alex asked.
"Nothing's wrong with me. What's wrong with you? Going to a funeral?" I snapped angrily, Alex glared at me and I huffed.
"Yes...my own." He grumbled. "I'm going to the bathroom." I swear I saw tears in his eyes as he excused himself. I waited for about five minutes until he came back and Martha served the food.
   "So..."
   "Just...shut up."
"We should at least get to know each other if we're going to get married." Alex groaned and stabbed a piece of chicken.
   "Fine. Whadaya wanna know?"
"Um...where's your accent from. It's not from New York."
"It's not from anywhere. My first language was French, my second English, and third Spanish. I also speak Greek and Latin. It's a combination of several of them. Primarily French. I'm not from New York anyway. I'm from Nevis."
   "Oh, cool."
"Not cool." He huffed and crossed his arms.
"Ok...what's your favorite color?" The questions went on like that until all four of my siblings ran in the room and hit under the table.
"What the fuck?" Alex yelped and scooted back to look.
"Martha? Henry? James? Mary? What are y'all doin'?"
"It's daddy!" Mary, the five year old, wailed.
"Y'all need to go! Y'all will make him mad."
"He's already mad!" Henry, the twelve year old, snapped.
"Stay out of there!" I heard my father roar.
"Martha! Take Alex to mom's room." Martha, the sixteen year old, nodded and moved to escort Alex.
"Hell no! I'm not going anywhere until I get an explanation!" Alex snapped, storming up to me.
"I will when I know you're safe. Now go!" Martha took Alex and I ushered to rest of my siblings under the table. Dad threw the door open and I looked over.
   "Where is she!" He snapped.
"The bathroom. You're interrupting." I snapped.
"Oh! You'll pay!" He swung at me and I tried to get away but he was faster. I went down and he kicked me a couple times before storming out. I groaned and stumbled to my feet. I pulled my siblings out from under the table and hurried them up to mom's room. Alexander sat on my mom's bed with a blanket pulled tightly around his body and tears in his eyes. My mom and Martha were trying to comfort him and I smiled.
"What the fuck was that!" He yelled when he saw me.
"Alexander, please!" My mom tried to calm him but he wasn't having it.
"How the hell do you hide it from the press?"
"My dad owns the press. South Carolina isn't as marvelous as people think."
"I am NOT marrying into that!"
"As soon as I get the crown it's all gonna change and my dad is going to jail."
"I am not staying here with that-...that...freak!" He sputtered, tears dripping from his violet eyes and shaking all over.
"I'll arrange to go to my family's cottage a few miles out of town. You'll be safe there." He wiped his face and huffed.
"Alexander!" King Washington rushed in and hugged him. "We're going home. You need to rest." Alex nodded and I bit my lip.
"Goodbye, John." I raised my hand to wave and winced. Alex frowned but didn't question it and allowed his father to help him out.
