Valentine's Day

A/N - *sweats* if I get this done by midnight it'll be a miracle

Alexander's POV

I opened my locker and a small piece of paper fluttered to the floor. I stooped to pick it up and slowly unfolded it.

My Dear Boy,

   I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, neither am I the most attractive but there is no denying the way you've stolen my heart.

   I frowned and tapped my best friend's shoulder. Kitty turned around and I showed it to her. She gasped loudly and squealed. "LEXI'S GOT A SECRET ADMIRER!" I clasped a hand over her mouth and glared.
   "Will you shut up?"
   "Secret admirer, huh?" John Laurens drawled with a sneer, I snatched the note out of Kitty's hands and folded my arms.
   "This has nothing to do with you, Laurens." I snapped, he shrugged and stalked off. "I should get to class." I hugged Kitty goodbye and hurried to class.

John's POV

   I left the note. I was trying to tease him when I asked about it but it came out wrong. It always comes out wrong. I mean to tell him he looks nice but it comes out as 'you look weird' or something like that. I'm hopeless. I was never trained in the love department because my dad was too busy being an ass. Now that my mom divorced him were kind of walking on eggshells around each other. Whatever. Anyway. I'm sitting in history and Alex has this class too as well as his friend Ben. "It's cute!" Ben reasoned.
   "It's just a prank, Benny." Alex sighed, I hung my head and sighed. "No one would ever like me like that." It crushed my heart to hear those words leave his mouth.
"C'mon, Ale-"
"Drop it, Ben. It's just a prank." I scribbled a new note and stuck in my backpack for later. When the bell rang signaling school was over I waited over Alex to leave before slipping the note in his locker.

Alexander's POV

I opened my locker and a note fell out. I frowned and picked it up. I unfolded it and sighed.

My dear boy,

This isn't a prank. I think you're wonderful.

My eyes widened in disbelief and Kitty read the note. "Wow."
"This isn't funny." I grumbled, crumbling the note and huffing.
"Come on, Alex! It's a secret admirer! It's cute!"
"No. It's a joke and a cruel one at that. It's not funny. It's mean." I threw the note away and headed to first period.

After lunch I opened my locker and another note fell out. I groaned loudly and stooped to pick it up. Ben read it over my shoulder and I huffed.

My dear boy,

This isn't a joke. This isn't a prank. You've stolen my heart and I should only hope that one day I have the courage to face you.

I blushed and smiled. Maybe this wasn't a prank. Maybe someone actually liked me. Maybe things were getting better.

Two weeks later

I get notes everyday and sometimes two if I'm upset. I feel better about myself and I'm more confident. I told John to go fuck himself the other day and I'm standing up to him more often. J is so sweet and they leave little compliments and stuff. I just wish I knew who they were. I opened my locker and grinned seeing a new note. I unfolded it and frowned, seeing only numbers. I grinned, realizing it was a phone number, and put it in my phone.
