"Hey Shiro, why don't we ever celebrate your birthday?" Lance asked cause he had nothing better to do.
"Because I was born on February 29 Lance. So my birthday isn't every year" Shiro says in a matter-of-fact way.
"Well it is a leap year this year why don't we throw you a party?" Lance said as you can see the mischief and plans growing in his eyes.
" no, whatever you're thinking no. I don't need you guys throwing me a party. I'm pretty sure no one else on the ship even knows that it's my birthday tomorrow. So just don't tell them. OK, promise me Lance."
" I promise that I won't throw you a party."
"I feel like you're still hiding something. But I have to go work. So just don't do something stupid. Go bother your boyfriend or something. Just stay out of trouble."
"Okay. Bye Shiro" he got in the elevator to go down to Keith's bed room.
"Hi, my adorable emo boyfriend." He gave Keith a kiss on the cheek then flopped down on the bed.
"What are you planning?"
" I don't know what you're talking about. I am not planning anything."
"O'really You just walked in here, kissed me, and call me adorable. Oh well I had a sword in my hand. You have to be scheming in someway or another."
"Can I not call my boyfriend adorable and give him a small kiss without wanting something from him.?"
" you can, but I'm smarter than that. You are planning something. Give up and tell me what you need me to do."
"Good you agreed. I want to throw a surprise birthday party for Shiro."
"One, how do you even know when his birthday is? Two, does he wanna party? Three I'm guessing you already got Pidge and Hunk to agree to this, am I right?"
" yes they agreed. He doesn't know we're going to throw a party. And he told me. So now that I answered your questions, will you help me or not."
"Since I can't stop you. (Sigh) what's the plan?"
" Hunk is making the cake, Pidge is DJing, Coran and Allura are doing decorations, so that leaves me and you to be a distraction."
" and when is all this happening?"
"Tomorrow"
"Okay, do you want to train with me. Since you so rudely interrupted."
"You're on."
The next day everyone did their part. Hunk made a cake shaped like the black lion's head. Pidge not only made a bomb playlist, he also somehow made disco lights. Coran and Allura put streamers and balloons up all over the cockpit. Keith and Lance decided the best distraction was training. So that's what they did until The mice gave them the signal that it was time for the party.
"Hey, I think that's enough training for today. Do you guys want to go to the cockpit see if there's anything we can actually do?" Lance asks
"Sure, lets head up." Shiro agreed
"Surprise, happy birthday Shiro."
