The rising morning sun cascaded through the thin strips in between the widow blinds as two forms slept quietly in their soft, white bed. The only sound in the room was the gentle snore of the family dog, as he rested at the foot of the bed, warming the feet of the two lovers. As the sun slowly continued to rise, the rays that slipped though the blinds found themselves shining in a certain silver haired man's closed eyes, waking him gradually. A smile graced his face as he saw the beautiful sleeping face of his lover beside him. Running a hand through the other's thick, brown, slightly tangled hair, he leaned closer and pressed a kiss to his head. Sensing that his master woke up, the dog scurried to the head of the bed for a morning belly rub.
"Good morning, Makkachin." The silver haired man spoke softly, as he lightly scratched the curly, brown fur of his pet's stomach. He let out a chuckle as Makkachin let his long doggy tongue hang from his mouth in satisfaction. The body beside them stirred, rolled onto his back, then let out a long yawn, all while keeping his eyes shut, as if to cling to the last few seconds of his deep sleep. "And good morning to you too, Yuuri." The older of the two laughed quietly, admiring his sleepy lover.
"G'morning, Viktor." He replied, finally opening his deep brown eyes. Viktor watched as Yuuri stretched his arms high above his head, stealing a glance at the gold good-luck ring on the younger man's right ring finger, matching his own. As the brunette went to put his arms back down, Viktor gently took Yuuri's right hand in his own, lifting it to his lips, and placed a delicate kiss, slightly above his boyfriend's ring, on the knuckle. Yuuri blushed and giggled as Viktor spread kisses to the rest of the knuckles, on his right hand, wrist, up his tanned arm, across his bicep and shoulder, collar bone and cheek, placing the last kiss on his lover's soft lips. Yuuri scooted closer to Viktor, resting his head on Viktor's shoulder, with his arms wrapped around his waist. The silver haired man rested his head atop Yuuri's and hugged him back. They watched as the sun rose above the buildings surrounding their own apartment building in silence, other than the occasional pecks to each other's foreheads, cheeks, necks, and lips. With his lover cradled in his arms, Viktor felt complete. His whole life up til now he felt as if he was missing a part of himself; he found that missing part in Yuuri, it was Yuuri. Yuuri made him feel things he didn't know he was capable of feeling - wildly, boundlessly, in love.
"I love you, Yuuri. I knew since the moment I saw you that I loved you. You were, are, and always will be the love of my life and my missing puzzle piece. There's nothing in this world or the next that could ever change my mind. I will always love you. Will you marry me?" Viktor expressed as he brushed the hair gently from his boyfriend's forehead.
"Oh, V-Viktor." The brunette gently cried as he peered into his lover's clear blue eyes, wrapping his arms even tighter around his torso.
"I love you t-too. I love you s-so, so much. I c-couldn't imagine my life without you in it; I wouldn't w-want it. Viktor... you are my everything. I'm the luckiest man in the world to have you by my side. Yes, oh my god yes, I'll marry you." Yuuri confessed, wiping his tears. The silver man's face crumbled as he heard his lover's words. Yuuri quickly wiped Viktor's face with his small, soft hands. "Viktor shhhhh... it's okay... it is, it's okay... shhhh... I love you so much..." Yuuri cooed tears again softly welling in his brown eyes. Viktor held him tight, cradling Yuuri's head to his pale chest.
"We're a fucking mess." Viktor laughed as he calmed down, wiping both his and Yuuri's tears. They laughed at themselves - two bed-headed adults crying like love-sick teenagers in each other's arms. As the laughter died down Viktor reaches into his bedside table and pull out a shiny, gold ring embedded with small, gleaming diamonds around the band. He gently slipped it onto his now fiancée's right ring finger, right above their good luck charm.
"We really did have a good morning, didn't we?"
