Tsukishima waits nervously at his table in the restaurant. He keeps checking his watch even though he knows exactly what time it is. He got to the restaurant a little early and Yamaguchi isn't supposed to get here until 15 past 6:00. Tsukishima's heel anxiously bounces up and down under the table. It is his second date with this guy and he has already fallen head over heels in love.

When they first met, Yamaguchi seemed extremely shy, but after an hour of talking he really warmed up to Tsukki. One of the main things that Tsukishima had noticed about Yamaguchi was his smile, his whole face lit up and his eyes crinkled just so that it made Tsukki smile as well, and Tsukishima didn't smile that genuinely that often. They then became friends and met up often, until a week ago Yamaguchi asked Tsukishima out. Tsukki was shocked but incredibly happy. He had said yes immediately and Yamaguchi smiled that beautiful smile of his.

Their first date had been super casual, just walking around town and looking in small, cute shops. They held hands the entire time and Tsukishima's heart rate never went down from the excited pounding of being with Yamaguchi. Tsukki had always had a little bit of a crush on Yamaguchi, but when he was asked out, it seemed the crush escalated into much more.

This time Tsukishima wanted to have a little bit of a more formal date and Yamaguchi had agreed. Now for some reason Tsukishima felt that he had to impress Yamaguchi, he had to show Yamaguchi that he would be a worthy boyfriend. He doesn't know why he has had this sudden urge; Yamaguchi has always been super accepting and kind. Tsukishima takes a deep breath; he has been making himself nervous.

At exactly 6:15, Yamaguchi walks into the restaurant. He is wearing a white dress shirt with a black bowtie. He has a jacket slung around one shoulder and smiles as his eyes land on Tsukishima. Suddenly Tsukki isn't nervous, it's like Yamaguchi's smile fixed him. Yamaguchi takes the chair opposite Tsukishima.

"Have I kept you waiting long?" he says with a charismatic smile. A wide smile escapes Tsukishima.

"No," he says, trying his best to muffle a laugh.

"What is it?" Yamaguchi says indignantly. "Is there something on my face?"

"No no no! I'm sorry, I'm just really happy to see you!"

"Oh, Tsukki. That's nothing to be sorry about." Yamaguchi leans forward and rests his head on his hand. "I'm really happy to see you, too." A blush forms on Tsukishima's face. He has always been confident about everything he does, a direct contrast to Yamaguchi, usually. But in this whole dating thing, it seems that their roles have been reversed. Yamaguchi has never had a partner that Tsukishima knows of, so it isn't like Yamaguchi is more experienced. Yamaguchi always seems so relaxed, yet he is always paying attention to Tsukki. Because of this, Tsukki has never doubted Yamaguchi's feelings for him.

Yamaguchi leans back in his chair looking closely at Tsukishima. A small smile plays on his lips as Tsukki tries to distract himself with the menu. He already knows what he wants, though.

"How was your day, Tsukki?" Yamaguchi asks sincerely.

"Um, good. Not anything out of the ordinary," Tsukishima responds. He slowly places the menu on the table. "How about yours?"

"Everything went as usual. The only interesting thing that's happened today is happening right now," Yamaguchi replies. He eyes the table with a bothered glance. "This table is too long, there's too much space from me to you."

"You'd rather us be closer?" Tsukishima raises an eyebrow at him.

"I would always rather us be closer. But I guess this is the best we can have right now." Yamaguchi winks at him and Tsukishima smirks. They order and eat, and the whole time all of Yamaguchi's attention is glued to Tsukishima. He's fascinated with the taller boy, the way his mouth and hands move when he talks, the way his eyes widen when ever Yamaguchi says something unusual, the way his eyes dart around Yamaguchi's face as he's talking. Yamaguchi covers the check, ignoring the words of protest from
Tsukishima.
