Horrors of The End [Vampire! Levi | Reader]

"So, if I'm your blood bank at the moment, what happens when I die?" You lay in bed awake, staring at the ceiling and listening to the sound of the male's

steady breathing pattern despite his unmoving heart. Mikasa and Eren were somewhere outside although it was dark and late, keeping up with their reputation of creatures of the night.

"You don't need to think that far." His cold voice was deep but tender and you soon came to realise you enjoyed the feeling of his cold palm on the top of your head. "That's for me to worry about.

You glanced at him with confusion written on your face, but his facial expression didn't change - in the moonlight coming from the window he seemed even more handsome than he did during the day. You wondered for a second whether he'd grown softer during the past few months or not, but under the influence of his constant caressing, you soon drifted off to sleep, forgetting all about the questions you wanted to ask him.

A slight idea was sparked inside your mind before you fell asleep with him by your side, an idea that sounded absurd as could be, one that you would keep to yourself no matter what.

"So," you started, uncomfortably fidgeting in your seat when Levi's gaze transferred from his untouched food to your form, "you haven't asked me to do it in a bit over a month."

His eyes narrowed and he raised a questioning eyebrow at your vague affirmative sentence. It made you even more uncomfortable because it was supposed to be like a dream come true for you - like you'd returned to your normal lifestyle and this had been nothing but a dream. Instead, it made you worry if he was going to be alright or if he'd found a substitute for you and was now going to throw you away like a useless toy. As far as you remembered from your talk a year ago, he wouldn't be in the best of condition if he didn't feed properly.

"Asked you to do what?" Levi questioned, his piercing hues being just as icy as they had been when you had first met him. Truth be told, he knew what you were talking about, but he didn't really want to answer your question, so he decided to get you off-topic in some way.

"You know," your fidgeting had stopped, you were now truly concerned for him since he didn't even sound like he wanted to mock you, "give you blood." You looked around warily before saying it, thinking somebody could overhear your conversation since you were aware there were other vampires on campus as well. You two sat all alone at the café just like you had about a year ago when you'd interrogated him about his kind using Twilight references from beginning to end.

"And? I'd expect you would be happier about that." He retorted and your eyebrows furrowed momentarily before you looked at the food on his plate - untouched and growing cold with every passing second. Your gaze shortly moved across his face before setting itself on something over his shoulder, a random student on another table or a tree in the background.

In the past few weeks, Levi hadn't asked you to give him your blood, but that soon started to take a toll on his body and demeanour. He looked way more tired than usual, he had no energy whatsoever and he acted like he may just as well pass out any minute now. He had looked tired before, but now he seemed extremely exhausted as if he hadn't slept in weeks and was living off of energy drinks and black tea.

It wouldn't have been nearly as disturbing if you thought he was only a college student since that was the daily life of the majority of them, but he was supposed to be a vampire - somebody who didn't need sleep or human food under normal circumstances. The dark circles under his eyes were so prominent you could see his capillaries even without squinting, which was really scary. He was pale like a dead man and his body was now leaner as if he'd lost a lot of weight. Also, you managed to beat him during today's training twice (which you didn't really consider winning since he was in such a state), which just meant he was way weaker physically.
