The woman walked slowly down the road, hands in her pockets as she tried to get the most warmth out of them. Fresh snow under her feet, cold winter wind piercing her as the non warm sun shined above her head and made the cloudless baby blue bright sky pop out even more.

The woman sighed slightly after staring for a few minutes ahead to her destination, finally arriving and pressed her cold hand to the doorknob of the shop gently, thinking twice before actually pushing it and walking inside accompanied by the sharp, but cheery voice of the bells above the door.

The worker inside met her with a cheery nice smile as she let the door close itself behind her and entered more inside, feeling the warmth of the shop soaking through her body.

"Hello, how can I help you? Are you searching for something specific?" The nice ginger haired woman asked and the other womna in front of her nodded with a nice small smile on her dry cold lips.

"Yeah, actually I was wondering if you had something not bothersome, like a calm one or---"

"Ah, I get it. Well, we do have some cats, so follow me to the section please." The ginger walked ahead as the (h/c) haired woman followed after and soon saw herself inbetween many many opportunities.

She walked around the different animals in their cages and looked at each and every one seperately, thinking what would it be if she had them in her home. She passed a fluffy cat with brown fur that watched her with curiousity, another one with blond fur and intelligent bright eyes and a lot of others, but none actually took her attention. Finally in front of the last cage, she was just about to lean in and look down at it, as the worker spoke up:

"Um, I think it's for the best to choose from the other ones."

"Is something the matter?" The (h/c) haired woman looked up at the ginger as the woman fiddled with her fingers and looked at the cage of the cat worried.

"We hold the most agressive cat here, at the back of the row, because customers usually choose from the other cats before getting to him and he usually doesn't like people in general. It wouldn't be too wise to interact with him." The ginger spoke, throwing a slight glare to the cage and the other woman got the clue that the poor woman had indeed probably sufferend from the cat.

"You're saying he has some issues with his behavior?"

"Indeed. It's best if you go back and choose from the other cats." The ginger suggested, yet the other woman stayed glued to her place in front of the last cage, looking down at it.

"No, I want to look at the cat." She stated and opened up the door, crouching down and looking inside. What she saw surprised her.

A cat, definetely older than two years, with jet black fur and relatively small frame laid there in the corner, facing her with head up in the air as it was apparently resting previously down on the ground. Wide steel blue eyes stared at the woman suspiciously, but with the same ever so unhidden boredom in them inherent for people.

The first thought to land inside the woman's brain to the sight was: Beautiful.

She stared at the cat for a little, then carefully and slowly lifted up her hand from her side and moved it inside the small space invaded by the feline specie, cautiously touching the cat's paw with her finger.

As an answer the cat growled ever so slightly in warning and the woman pulled out her finger from the cage, smiling slightly, then chuckling.

"Guess I did too much, huh?"

"Wow, this is a first one." The ginger worker behind her stated amazed.

"What do you mean?"

"He doesn't like to be touched. Almost never let's anyone to do so without gouging their eyes out afterwards." The ginger said and she smiled.
