Regret and Realisation [Levi | Reader | Modern AU!]

"Good morning, sleepyhead!" You cringed at Hanji's overly loud voice and almost let the urge of hanging up take over you.

"What is it, Hanji?" You asked groggily before glancing at your roommate across the room, making sure he was still asleep.

"Is Levi still sleeping?" The brunette asked excitedly and your eyebrows furrowed. You looked at the raven haired male in the bed across the room - there was drool at the side of his mouth, his hair was disheveled as hell and the blanket he'd covered himself with was now halfway across the floor by his bed. You guessed the answer to Hanji's question was positive.

"Yeah." You stated after nodding and realising she couldn't see it.

"Then wake him up and tell him to find himself something to do for about half an hour." She told you, making your drowsy mind shake off the sleepiness and put suspicion on a pedestal instead.

"Why?" You asked doubtfully while turning in your bed and slowly sitting up. You propped your elbows on your knees and got a hand through your messy (h/c) hair while waiting for the brunette's answer.

"I have something to show you and he needs to be out of the room." She explained before shortly adding: "Even though I'd love for him to hear it, too." Your eyebrows were knitted in suspicion, the sleepiness had erased itself from your droopy eyes long ago and you were now staring at the wall like you expected your gaze to turn into a dagger and strike it. A sigh left your lips before you rolled your eyes.

"If it's that way why don't we just go out?" You asked and Hanji kept silent for a second before snorting.

"It'd be better if we were at your apartment."

You rolled your eyes again, but before you could reply a sharp, loud noise struck the air and made you jump up on your bed a bit. After the heavy metal music resumed playing, you realised it was just Levi's alarm. You let out a sigh and saw how the raven spun in his bed, making the blanket draped over his torso slip to the floor fully. A groan was torn from his lips as he propped himself up on his elbows and reached for his phone. The alarm was stopped and silence settled in the room again.

"Levi's alarm?" Hanji questioned shortly and you gave her a nod, but it took you a second to realise once again she couldn't witness the gesture.

"Yeah, it was." You confirmed, making Levi's eyes slowly move across the room to you. You pretended not to have noticed and listened to Hanji.

"Great. Then tell him to get his ass outside. Maybe on a date with Petra or something."

"I told you I can't do that." You argued with her, a scowl on your face as you narrowed your eyes.

"(Y/N)." Levi's deep, hoarse, morning voice called for you and your head spun to face him. You covered the speaker and parted the phone from your ear before asking him what he wanted. He lazily dropped his feet on the floor and sat up, holding onto his phone with one hand and getting the other one through his raven locks just like you had done. "I'm going out for a bit. Erwin texted me yesterday to ask for some help. I'll be back in an hour at most." He announced, making your eyes widen - was it a part of Hanji's plan or was he really doing this on his own accord? You didn't dare ask.

"Okay. I'll be here." You notified him. You saw how he nodded before standing up, stretching out and heading towards the bathroom. After he was out of the room you brought the phone back to your ear and heard Hanji snorting with laughter.

"I heard." She informed you vaguely before chuckling again. "Looks like things will go my way after all. I'll be there in ten minutes." She hung up before you could object, reply or even comment. Your shoulders slumped as you tossed the phone on your bed behind your back and got up, heading for the bathroom. When you arrived in front of the door you knocked three times and heard a groan from the inside.
