Fire and ice
This love is like fire and ice
"So, we did meet again, huh?" It was bright, the morning was cold and the December weather wasn't helping. The wind blowing your previously neat hair in all directions, your scarf wrapped securely around your neck, your nose was as red as Rudolph's and yet, the man in front of you looked not a single second older than the last time you had seen him.
"The question is if you really approve of us meeting again?" The question hadn't slipped just casually, it was cautious despite it's nonchlant tone and you knew that better than him in a way.
"I guess so. Why would it be bad?" Your own question made his mind retract back to the time when it wasn't a bad thing at all you met up in the ungodly hours of the night, talking about stupid and meaningless stuff, when you would pester him about his life and he would ignore you just half-heartedly on his own side.
"I was just making a point. Nothing else." He stated shortly and you nodded.
"I see."
This love is like rain and blue skies
This love is like sun on the riseThis love got me rolling the dice
"So. Do you wanna go and get a drink?" His heart was racing in his ribcage. So many years and you never failed to make him nervous about your smallest of answers, the meaningless of questions, the most casual of all requests. That just made the feeling of anticipation stronger, and the urge of knowing the answer more eager.
Don't let me lose
"Sure." That casual smile, small but as bright as the sun in the sky. He was sure he fell in love all over again. And as his nervousness faded away, the eagerness to know the answer to his question disappearing, he could already hear his own heart drumming loudly in his ears with relief and excitement. He hadn't been this happy from a while.
Still falling for you
"What do you do now?" His question was simple, the simplest of probably all that were to come and you made no gesture to show him that you were interested in anwering in any way of the word.
"Nothing much. Just a secretary job." With a shrug, you left him to order both your drinks to the waitress after you settled yourselves on a table at a near café. Shitty thing was - no free tables left inside of the café. Good thing was - the morning may have been chilly, but it wasn't snowing or being all too windy or cloudly. The best of December.
Beautiful mind
"It was better when you worked for me." That single sentence made you look up at him quite surprised for he never stated he had been pleased with something as trivial as his wife sharing the same workplace with him. He may have detected the surprise in your (e/c) orbs or he may have sensed his own mistake at the choice of words, because he quickly corrected himself.
Your heart got a story with mine
"I'm just saying that the job paid more and the work was done more efficiently and quickly."
"Well, I did like working for you." With a soft smile you thanked the waitress as she brought you your coffee and Levi's black tea.
